Skyrim tips and secrets PART 3

I'm really glad the remastered version came out so a whole new wave of people can fall in love with Skyrim like I have. Such a relaxing game

Favouriting for the day I finally decided to play... bet I never see it again

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hold alt on PC to make the horse gallop, so hit the sprint key to sprint. Wow. Never would have thought of that.

The end says Don't translate this

I didn't know a many of these. Thanks @OP !!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Lol I'm currently living in Anise's house

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can give the Crown you get in the Civil War questline and give it to the opposing faction, essentially going turncoat.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

wow holding the sprint button makes you go faster that is a shock

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I appreciate theese, more are welcome.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Op is a reposter and a phoney. Unfortunately, I am the High King of Skyrim....

9 years ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 4

The person who created is credited directly on the picture.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Why does one of those markings at the bottom glow? Wait... Holy shit i understand now!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These never load on mobile...anyone else have the same issue?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

im on mobile and its fine

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you know, you can mine by doing it the way people have been mining for centuries? Pickaxing an ore.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 7

400 hours in skyrim and I didn't know fire boiled the water. This is what I get for being hack and slash.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At least credit the OP, @OP.. -1

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

Rename this to "things everybody who actually played skyrim knows"

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

OP.. Atleast give a credit next time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

lol I just always fireball every fox I see

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#23 #24 and #25 are not necesarily right at all. First, you can rebind. Sprint key makes horse gallop, not alt. Foxes are random. Hidden...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

...stuff is everywhere. And 25, if by hosue you mean paltry sum of gold, yes. Actual house being usable by you is a misunderstanding

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

from the disposition system. They'll let you use their house if you're a friend, and this is the same that makes them give you inheritance.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that what they meant? That one confused me, I've never gotten anything other than money.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is what it seems. I also never got anything but money.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you can make your horse run by pressing the run button!?!!?!?!?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Foxes dont lead you to a damn thing Ive tried that one, they go in circles

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's a half truth. They just run away, but Skyrim has so much stuff going on that wandering in a random direction will lead you to stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But then it isnt even a half truth when wandering around will find you something regardless.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, no. If you follow a fox, it will lead you to something interesting, but it's not scripted or intentional. But it will happen.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So whats with Anises cabin

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Small dungeon below it

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Beware of it!? I always stop by there immediately at the start! Free house bitch! Free enchantment table too.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm like "chill out lady I'm a witch too I'm actually like head of the witch school it's cool" but no, she has to go make it a whole THING.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

She's a witch

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

How do you known she is a witch?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you read the notes she's trying to get her daughter and grandaughter in the coven.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She looks like one?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It has an old woman called anise who will attack if you go into her basement.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

She had a basement?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There's a trapdoor in the floor in the westernmost part of her cabin.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every woman has a basement, some attack when you try to explore it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

After 3 days of playing on PS4, I find out now that Sony won't let modders add external content, so the mods will always be basic. FML.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yeah, we were so peeved when we realized mods were worthless on the ps4.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

PC man. I have PS4 but Fallout 4 and Skyrim have never been better than when I built my PC

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I had regular Skyrim on PC, loved it. I got the PS4 version so I can lay on my couch with my dog and play it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I miss the old days. 360 in the bedroom. Black Ops with the pupper

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I got an Xbox One from a friend and bought Skyrim. PS4 screwed themselves outta my money on that one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be fair, if you're interested in modding you're missing out on the greater 75% of mods because console will not support script extenders.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do have the PC version but my PC is not a beast by any means. I can support a lot of mods, but nothing like an ENB or something like that

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Xbox version is nice to have as well for some casual playing cause my computer isn't set up for gaming specifically.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine faster. Equip two pickaxes and use Elemental Fury shout.

9 years ago | Likes 603 Dislikes 1

Yup. That was my main use for that shout as well

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But don't try to block if you have two pickaxes. You will only get confused.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or just get a mod for instant mining?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

can confirm, fury shout 4 life

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine faster. Install a mod that lets you mine an ore vein in one swing.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Can confirm, cuts your time in half at least.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure if they fixed the bug, but you can also swing faster with a dagger in your L hand and pickaxe in R hand. Esp. if spec'd for DW

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also dont mine out the entire cave. Leave 1 node and come back in a day, it willrespawn much quicker than mining it all out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"You are carrying too much to be able to run"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If your inventory isn't spacious enough remember to mein führer.

9 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

I appreciate that I can give you two points for this.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

OH MY GOD THATS SO SMART

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine faster. Install the Faster Mining mod.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doot

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine faster. Eh. What about mine fewer?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Jahwol? :P

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about Mein Führer?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

This is priceless info.

9 years ago | Likes 164 Dislikes 0

Hey, gotta get that iron ore somehow. A slightly more valuable piece of info. I think the mine in the Eastmarch orc stronghold is ebony ore.

9 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

Save for future Skyrim use

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can kill Astrid when you first meet her when she tells you to kill one of the three people she kidnapped, then get a quest 2 kill the DB

9 years ago | Likes 504 Dislikes 5

Roleplayed a good character my first runthrough and did this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's pretty tough

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I loved that option. It felt good to kill the whole brotherhood as a Fire Mage.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That was so much fun, honestly. I felt good killing the whole brotherhood as a Fire Mage.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I remember the first time I played and saw Astrid in the cabin. I really didn't feel like killing those people so I used unrelenting force 1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On her and just killed her. Didn't even know I could join the DB

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did this on accident my first playthrough. Like, I didn't want to kill any of the others so I was just like "ok I'll just kill YOU"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When i first started this quest line, at the cabin i pickpocketed her blade of woe and then at the end where she gives it to you she gave(1)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

me another one :D

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She even congratulates you, since she said "someone has to die for you to leave this room", and she appreciates good snark.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At first I killed all 3, couldn't find her, reloaded, found her, killed her and took her cool clothes and key...then killed all three again

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

I just stole all her stuff, including weapons and clothes. I have two knives of woe now. And multiple sets of DB Armour.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

i love how the quest name is "FAIL SITHIS" instead of "HAIL SITHIS" when you do this

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

During my very first Skyrim play through I gave a lot of thought as to who I should kill. An idea came to me and ,thinking I was clever 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I attacked Astrid. Holy fuck was that a mistake. She was so much stronger than me, but I had already completed the Companions quest line 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

So I was a werewolf. I transformed and used the werewolf howl to keep her from killing me while I killed and ate the other 3 people in 3/4

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

the room. After the deed was done, I got the notification that I had failed "Joining the Dark Brotherhood" and gained 4/5

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

"Destroy the Dark Brotherhood". FML 5/5

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't recommend it though, you miss out on a lot of cool dialogue, loot, and storyline. Unless you are past your first playthough

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

Can confirm played through it once and on my alt i realized i didn't want to do all that shit again. Got that DB killing gold.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

lol, I would do it just so i dont miss out on getting cicero and windshear.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wasnt sadist enough for that whole questline. Neither of those items appealed to me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

windshear is good for when you dont feel like fighting something, but it decides to annoy you anyway. :P

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who is Astrid? Oh god, I love this game but I'm such a newb....

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Astrid is the leader of the Dark Brotherhood!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go to Windhelm, get into the house of Aventus Aretino. Sleep every so often, there's something that's only triggered if you do. Hail Sithis.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Will do! Thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Travel to the 3 standing stones by Riverwood and there is a hunter down the hill with a bed you can use if your low level.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Awesome, thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This I did not know. I always assumed she was essential, so I avoided the quest on 'good' guys.

9 years ago | Likes 164 Dislikes 4

"Good" characters should always join the brotherhood for the fact that the story line ends with you killing the weak and cowardly emporer1/2

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Damn milk drinkers!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, you also get more of a chance for the DB to attack you in random encounters

9 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

Yea then when you kill them, you can find a note on then that has your contract

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They have you assault the DB. Then you get a small reward. And it's really anticlimactic.

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

It's pretty much just one quest where you take out most of the DB. Anticlimactic is an understatement tbh

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And not worth it for the pittance you get.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it's something to do after you saved for the giggles, before reverting the save to actually progress

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you're deciding between the two whilst reading this, join the DB over killing Astrid. The story is awesome and the rewards even more so.

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah, I loved doing the Brotherhood. Just sometimes you have characters that wouldn't exactly be assassins.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Best storyline in-game imo.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I always did the DB quest line because of Shadowmere. Free awesome horse that battles with you and has an insane healthpool.

9 years ago | Likes 87 Dislikes 0

Also something awesome: Killing Cicero

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's good as a dragon distraction

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

One time Shadowmere died in my game and he never respawned RIP :(

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't forget if Shadowmere does die she respawns after a week.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ghost horse best horse.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Arvak from Soul Cairn

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ye.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shadowmere doesn't actually have an insane health pool, only insane health regen.

9 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

yeah in my game that i have him, he dies basically any time anyone starts fighting me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But doesn't he respawn after 3 days or something in the pool by the sanctuary?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Plus like 3x the stamina of normal horses.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

He... umm... fell off a mountain...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

He's supposed to respawn after a few skyrim days and go to the dark brotherhood

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
