Hi from Madison!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do they have everyone run across the finish alone for sweet photo opps? Or just so spread out because of how long the race is?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's very spread out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congrats! JZ! ;) - I did an ironman in 2014, and now I get winded running up a flight of stairs..

Know a guy who did the lanzarote ironman. Did it in a comedy tshirt, made it onto their website as that years only 'fun runner'.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't keep us in suspense, where's the suit?

That's awesome!! Was it your first one? What an accomplishment!! I can't even run 10km without wanting to die

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thanks. Yes it was my first. Remember it's all mental and you can finish a 10km.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nice! I'm working on doing one next year.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I'm pretty active but I couldn't imagine myself doing one because I suck at swimming. Swimmming for 1.2 miles? Damn.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually it is 2.4. 1.2 is for the 1/2 Iron and truthfully it isn't as far as bad as you think.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The race in Madison, Wisconsin was a Ironman 70.3 so it is 1.2 miles.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was in Racine last year for the 70.3 - race was a cluster. Swim was cancelled and bike route shortened.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right now I probably only fit enough for the bike leg of a 70.3 but I don't like the idea of triathlon anyway. Good luck!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

a-are you single?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

7 days of the week.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

*fans self rapidly*

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You didn't ask if he was ready to mingle though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@Magickittentaxi are you ready to mingle?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Always ready :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was just going to say I don't see Tony Stark anywhere in this picture...

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

Giggity.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The image doesn't seem related to Iron Man at all. Not sure why OP chose it.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hahah it's a triathlon that is a 2.4 mile Swim followed by 112 mile bike than a 26.2 run.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Well to be honest ironman is a brand not a distance.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How does one train for this if you don't have pool access or a bike?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It would prov to be incredibly difficult

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A lot of cardio, I'd imagine.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like you're about to roll your ankle.

8 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 3

Looks like he's mid Highland Fling

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea I don't have the best form.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

"Best form" looks like you run on the sides of your feet :P

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Try barefoot running. It helps a ton, because it makes you focus on your form so even if you don't end up racing barefoot it still helps.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

I wear minimal shoes and did 1/4 of what this guy did and may have a stress fracture in my foot from little supporting shoes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's lack of training though. You can't just jump in a pool without swimming and expect to do 1.2 miles. You have to build the muscles 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in your feet to support the extra stress of lack of support. Humans have only had support for what 100 years? We've existed for how long?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can't blame the shoes for that though. Humans weren't incapable of running a marathon before shoes with cushioning were invented.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But we weren't running on concrete either

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why this comment? The guy just finished what most will never and you STILL have some know-it-all remark.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

That's just good advice though, from what I assume is one runner to another, OP even admitted to not having "the best form"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Missed the point. When ppl graduate, it's not not appropriate to say "try studying harder, it'll be easier." you just congratulate them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Because I do the same exact thing? I do triathlons, and I'm training for my first next year. Just passing along advice I discovered. Geez.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Congratulations and good luck, but you should know that many races still force footwear ITU style.
