Shots fired lol. But not by the UN

America rolls to intimidate, critically succeeds.

Ah, I get it! It's funny because it's true!
SurprisedMoth
No in all seriousness fuck the UN. What even is the UN without American?
skullkid96k
That should be considered elderly abuse, America yelling at its two father's.

Is there a difference?

One is vertical. The other is not. I know directions are hard but come on
Yeah, it wasn't a serious question, it was a joke hinging on Belgium's history of being a doormat for German occupation forces.
Lol, ohhhh

Just remember that Americans can see through the bullshit too. We (gov't) revere the UN when it suits us.

"from now on it's going to be america first" rest of world: when was it not?

before ww2 the US was a very backwards country
still was concerned with its own interests. ask the nations who previously owned the land if they think US policy is all about giving
Mazhiwe
to be fair, they did seem to be all about giving blankets...

*looks at the Marshall Plan* *looks at NATO* sure it was self interest as well, but it also safeguarded and improved European lives
SpaceSphere
Combination of cold war and FDR policies coming into play there

Marshall plan was to counter the potential & likely move towards communism by workers in W. Euro. NATO insured American military supremacy
And yet it was still a massive investment in Western Europe footed by Americans, it wasn't really pure America First thought
It was 100% about locking in the Western markets for the USA and keeping it out of the hands of the USSR. That was the stated goal
And that benefitted everyone involved, and arguably the Europeans more than the Americans
US first doesnt mean US only, semantically at least. those were US firstpolicies creating markets needed for huge US production.
