in my case accident said pack it in, NOW. Right eye permanantly scared internally, and caused my good eye to fail by picking up slack later

But what if our eyesight is still bad because there's too much to process and we're missing some really important stuff?!?!!
steelturtle1234
So my lack of hi-rez ever is a feature, not a bug.
freshthrowaway1138
Had fuzzy vision and drove by intuition because my mom hated spending money on doctors. At 35, first pair and could see leaves!
KaizokuShojo
You guys were getting hi-res?
angelPlanetClicker
My eyes packed up around 15
gamorathecat
Anyone else’s give up at blurry and now you have to wear glasses all the time.
martineb72
I found out in driver's ed that I needed glasses. I asked how were you supposed to read that when it was all fuzzy. I got a look.
elusiveg
TBH I stopped drawing after I got glasses because there were just too many details.
ToddDebeikis
Most of their nerves are not fully myelinated yet which is why they don’t have fine motor control, dexterity, sharp vision
So it’s more that the entire brain/nervous system is still developing rather than intentionally limiting sensory input
lifeguard96
Yeah my eyes packed it in pretty harshly around 14, thanks stigmatisms
parkydiver
I think you mean astigmatism (I have it too). Stigmatism would be a normal lens for the eye, with no issues of light refraction
You glasses wearing
I mean...a MSc and BSc probably contribute to that too lol
thesunisgettingreallow
Glasses since I was 2, longer than I have had most of my siblings. My baby photos look like Crazy Eyes from Mr. Deeds.
I feel you pain. I was about 2 as well. Parents realised when I would sit far too close to the TV. Had to use eyepatches a couple times too
Oh yeah, had an eye patch for years. It's been about 25 years since I had to wear it and I still get teased for it ?
I had mine for a turn and my lazy eye then became dominant and the other went lazy, so I had to switch sides. On the plus side to it not >
Being perfect it I can control to a good degree which eye is dominant to look out of. Downside is, I can't use 3D glasses well at all

*cries in nearsighted*
Tariovic
Nearsighted is better than farsighted, I can take my glasses off and read comfortably in bed before I go to sleep.
Unless I want to hold the book about a foot from my face, I can't do that.
theoutdoorrageous
There eyes are still developing, don’t get ur info from tumblr
BigTex1
*their *your
Ur is the same as ur. I think you are getting a little carried away
Close to you, I got away without glasses until I was 7 by memorizing the optical test chart in school!!
SolRecon
I started at 7, but my astigmatism has remained constant at 6.5 for almost a decade. I'm 35, sight hasnt changed. Glasses are much nicer tho
tracereading
I had glasses from like 3 on. Yay for 20/200.
bassaro
Hey that's not so bad, it's not even 10 yet.
DarthHypno
Hey, same here. REPRESENT
fstngutz
I feel ya pain. Started right around that age myself.
L1NS4S4URUS
I can't remember ever seeing clearly and I ended up needing glasses in 4th grade, so whats that like 9?
loupgarou21
I was 4. Apparently my parents thought I was just clumsy before that
mcglirkymeow
I was 8. I got 3 more years of input than you. It wasn’t worth it.
chinesemario
Not if you're still 5...
Buef0rd
Same. Now I have glasses like bubbles
Imakethingsweird
I would, but I lost my glasses and cant see where I am going
IsntTaken
There's no suck thing as a wrong hole. Only wrong reactions.
Bigcurly2000
6 for me. The first time I walked into class with them on, the whole room burst into laughter.
TheJinxedPhoenix
Friend of mine in gr2 got a pair & was teased badly. She never put them on again. +20yrs later and she still won’t wear any because of it.
It's crazy what kids will target. You never know, if a few other kids hadn't gotten glasses shortly after me it could have lasted longer.
CarpenterBrute
I got two years on ya. 3 frickin years old. Smh
awesomecat42

Same! I just got contacts, its amazing but my brain is still wondering where my glasses are and that i shouldnt be able to see.
CutChemist
Question ? do normal corrective ocular prosthetics affect a young person in a way in which the brain learns to rely upon it? Hardwiring it?
Kbantar
The end is not in sight.
But someone’s gotta win it!
probablyobvious
Are ya cute?
sardonislamir
Said the... pedophile?
I started wearing mine at 16, but that doesn't mean I'm 16 anymore dood
juggertroll2
The joke was funny. Maybe add a /s. I think you should be in the positives though.
I think the nice person forgot that stories take place in the past...
GigiDundas
Well tell your wife the internet says you're quite fuckable.
Well I think youre HAWT
The only one that needs to get checked out more is you *rawr*
Don't worry, I'm done
comehomefransbrauder
Had perfect vision for 43 years then noticed small print is now a little blurry. Figured I needed reading glasses? So, I ust signed up...
JAFIOI
Same... Somewhere in my 40 I had to get myself some readers.
...vision insurance. Any advice for me?
newusername99
And get the lens with the anti glare and blue light reduction. Helps with computer work.
Make sure to get solid frames that don’t break, esp if you have kiddos
pyr0kid
mine got this nice reactive coating that make them darker when it direct sun. very nice, would recommend.
TheGhostOfFutureDisappointments
Go to a shop to try on glasses and find out what style/material works for you. Then go to zennioptical.com and buy from there. They do 1/2
prescriptions and they are crazy affordable. No need to spend $200+ on fucking frames. 2/2
FlyingElvisesUtahChapter
Ugh same. I’m avoiding going to get my eyes tested.
I know!! Having eagle like vision for most of your life and then that eagle like vision failing you sucks so bad. Ugh!
How can it be I’m getting predictably old! Nooooo I’m still immortal!
rshini
get anti-glare coating, it'll save you a lot of headache.
Yeah, anti-glare really should just be standard for all
Anti glare? Like TV? Or driving at night?
Anti glare/reflection, so for like any stronger light sources really. TV/PC/screens, driving at night, even just really bright lights
Lierofox
I had 20/10 vision until I turned 19, then over the course of a week (visiting a friend's house) my distance vision switched to 20/40.
RoversReef
Holy snap dude, that happened to me except between the age of 19 to 21. And several concussions!
gitguuud
That’s a lot of masturbation
orbitn
I would have gotten very concerned at a change in vision that rapid. But i'm a bit of a hypochondriac
deathpeppers
Mine wasn't overnight but i had the same thing happen around the time I was 23.
Nyayoco
I could see perfectly until I was about 14. I just came to school after summer and was like hey, I can't see shit on the board.
Drove up able to read the road signs with perfect clarity, then on the drive back I could barely focus on them.
BHPaperstacks
Yall were too close go the TV for that cartoon marathon
WinstonSmith101

Betting they always had an astigmatism and over the week from excessive gaming he punch his blood pressure up enough to push it over the
edge. When I went back to college from 29-33, I had a semester where my blood pressure and exhaustion pushed mine to shit, but it recovered.
Nope, I don't have astigmatism and I don't get stressed in games (very non-competitive, we played campaign on co-op.)
We hung out and played video games for a week!
SilverHornet
Was it Liero?
Halo 2 and... Silent Hill 4 I think? It was mid-2000's so it's tough to remember that far back.
cardinal29
That's it? No medical reasons?
Nope, my GP and optometrist couldn't find anything wrong, and it's been unchanged since then, best I've gotten is "*shrug* that's odd!"
(I'm mid-30's now and my prescription for my glasses hasn't changed in the last decade and a half.)

I have a neurological disorder which caused my eyesight to change dramatically. Don’t need reading glasses anymore and can see in the dark
