Do you know that feeling when there is an important exam, you have to study for, but all the things in your home are already clean? I found a way to waste some more time: Just clean your sockets! Yours may look different than my German ones, but I bet yours are just as filthy.

The first step is to remove the socket covers from the wall and scrub them with some dish soap and a kitchen sponge. While at it you can clean the drain grate as well since we are in no rush.

After removing the crude dirt and grease, use some q-tips and rubbing alcohol to finish the work. Pay attention to detail!

Afterwards rinse them off with water and let them dry completely.

When done, take your time to admire your work (at least an hour).
Well done, you've wasted time but still got the feeling you've accomplished something.

A lot of wasted effort, probably just easier to move

Leave them on to clean and you might get out of that exam all together ;)

My dorm room has no oven, no microwave and of course no dishwasher. So...

Ah, dorm room. Cleaning the dirt of generations before you... good call :) Was living in one once, too, taught me to clean, too.
