This is my fancy new heart monitor (event monitor). Last monday i was diagnosed with the early stages of congestive heart failiure. Im leaving for the cardiologist in twenty minutes and could use a tiny win.

We can try to give your tiny win here. Hope you win big later.

Does the cardiologist know what caused your CHF?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't let us Imgur wankers determine your happiness dude, we'll let you down. Good luck n shit tho

I was under that diagnosis a year ago. 48-hour Holter later and they found other manageable issues that gave a false positive. Keep up hope!

Good luck, @OP. I just had one of those strapped to my head for a 3-day EEG. The tech told me people would think the 26 wires were a bomb.

9 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 2

I told my 5 yr old daughter the Dr had turned me into a robot so the wires wouldn't scare her. She screamed with excitement for "Robot Mom"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Everyone seems to think i have diabetes

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

Cause it looks like an insulin pump haha.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The one I wore, 10 years ago, had like 16 leads on it. I told people it was my surround-sound Walkman.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Tell them its spac-aids.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I'm about 90% certain that is an ineffective electrode placement.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Scrolled through comments looking for one of these. Same here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

White is right, smoke over fire. Snow over grass if the first part doesn't do it for you.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

White to right shoulder, black to left shoulder, red to left flank. That is all wrong....

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ill post a pic of the diagram they gave me in my kit. Maybe im doing it wrong?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well i have that too... And one heart attack last year... I survived eeeeheeee! Im 25...

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Yeah i'm 23. Came as a hell of a suprise.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I had a heart attack (widowmaker) three years ago at 42, everything seems fine but always scared something will pop up. I wish you the best

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How did you find out? What was the trigger to get looked at?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had mine at 39. Terrifying ain't it? No previous history. Just bam. You have my deepest sympathy op and get well soon xox

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

sorry man but usersub will take the thumbnail+icon as a self-obsessed selfie and downvote it.

9 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 14

Well if they downvote it to hell, he'll see it eventually. (Sarcasm, but man, i hope it works out for you bud)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I saw male nipples, I was hoping for a male nipples milking story. Was disappointed. Best wishes man

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I almost did this actually... but I noticed the cords and thought it was a drain plug so I opened and was surprised. Good luck! @OP

Heart surgeries are easy. I have had 3. It's the life support after that really sucks!

9 years ago | Likes 638 Dislikes 9

Had a teacher, was a vietnam vet, said he was able to bench 400+ pounds back in the day, had heart surgery back then and couldnt do much,

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Disability community here. Life support is way better than dead!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For surgery you are asleep but then you wake to find yourself attached to this machine. Causes quite the panic.

9 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

My grandmother would beg to differ

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My grandmother have quadruple bypass and she is better than ever. Feels like she will out live the whole family.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My grandmother survived a valve transplant but died while they were trying to preemptively fix an aortic aneurysm

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rock on Grandma! ..although not everyone is as lucky (as I'm sure u well know)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What do u mean?

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

I think they mean literally- the life support pumps/sucks your blood and oxygen while your heart can't.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I think he means all he has to do is breathe deeply and the heart surgery is over... but living on in this miserable existence is not.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

I can speak with experience. This is true. The pain goes away within 2 weeks. But the fatigue and cloudiness lasts for months

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't. Sneeze.

9 years ago | Likes 184 Dislikes 1

Or cough

9 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

Seriously. SO's coworker sneezed and they had to do emergency open heart... same procedure and surgeon as my SO. He didn't sneeze thankfully

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Coughing hurts my back from them spreading my rib cage open

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Oh my god that's the scariest thing I've heard all day. Please stay safe!!!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Farting could possibly be dangerous as well.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Or you could do all 3 and go out like a god damned mad man!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Just freeze yourself like captain america and you'll be fine

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Falling into a feozen wasteland after defeating a crazy Hydra Nazi scumbag??

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've had a heart transplant..... not so easy

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

My little guy MIGHT one day need a heart (and maybe liver), what changes after having a heart transplant??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All the anti rejection medications. I started feeling better, but Your ribs are busted in half so it hurts. I was on morphine for 2 weeks

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After about a month I found it much easier to walk and sit up, than my former heart. But the WORST part is the food, and not being able to

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go out for 3 months, due to the immunosuppressants, not like anyone on this site does. If you have any direct questions you can chat with me

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow dude. Do you have to take a crap ton of pills everyday so your body accepts it?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same in any transplant. Now I'm only on 26 pills a day! :)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes. I have new lungs. Pills aren't a big deal compared to oxygen and breathing treatments. Pills were a norm before transplant, too.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yea during my failure episode was pills pills pills. Now the only thing I can't do is eat whatever I want.....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's pretty intense man. Good luck to both of you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Congratulations! I'm on a heart transplant team.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I've had a double lung transplant. Life is infinitely better now. First 18 months was rough, but I'm lucky and things smoothed out later.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was a donor for one of those 2-fers way back in '95...how u holding up? How long has it been?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You were a donor for a double lung tx??
