Besides making sure 32, 8 year olds weren't touching everything. It was super cool. We ended up getting a little extra out of the tour as well

I love the holocaust museum

I need to have kids so that I can get into museums for free on field trips!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Best part of being a substitute teacher is how often I get to do things like this. COSI, Art Museum, a jazz concert, a symphony.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well isn't that just wholesome

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You monster!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would do the same thing op

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did the children get a little extra education?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aren't most museums donation only?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Free is free

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you have different moms or just super fertile parents?

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Different mother and father. Adopted him after he was almost beaten to death by his father

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Onward too the fp

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Username checks out

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have to pay to get in museums?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here in the U.S., private ones do, as that's how they pay for upkeep; public ones usually "strongly suggest" a donation of a certain amount.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's similar in the UK, although school trips are usually to free museums as they are the large, well known and of course, free.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did the same wehn I was 19 and my bro was 11. The girls asked if I was his mom (sigh) and what he liked so he would like them back.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did the same thing. Went to a dinosaur museum, it was awesome!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I HATED field trips as a kid. My mom ALWAYS made sure she tagged along and I never had fun.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well what did you get extra?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

You did a completely normal thing to join another completely normal event. Consider me whelmed!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's just smart. No guilt in learning!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good on you.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You're a good brother.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My oldest niece is about to to the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island trip we all took in 5th grade, I'm trying to convince her to take me.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Have her read "the orphan of Ellis Island" after going! Great historical fiction that really engages kiddos! She'll build great connections!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you tell all the children your name was BloodyPussyFart?

9 years ago | Likes 341 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 1

"BloodyPussyFart, assemble!"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I assume it was a modern art exhibit?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We will be featured in an art exhibit titled, "iron dreams" in new york on saturday

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I reat that as iron memes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Museums are free in Ireland. I think, as a citizen, I own what I'm looking at.

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

In Houston, you have to pay, but certain days of the week it's free.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There are no private museums that charge admittance?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's travelling exhibitions that charge. Oh and wax museums but i think that's it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In the US it depends on the source/amount of funding. The Smithsonian was established using a trust that allows the museums to all be free.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

St. Louis taxes the citizens to fund the zoo. It also gets a ton of donor money, they got some great facilities now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck my ozone. Are you kidding me? In Washington, USA you have to pay to take a fucking hike. Not even joking

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

All the Smithsonuan museums in D.C. are free.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oregonian here, the money is for maintaining the parks and park services. Money well spent and it's usually not much if you have it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just went to an Aerospace museum in Virginia on Monday, it was free entry, once you paid 15usd to park...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I took full advantage. Rode the bus with them haha. Worth the chaos

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Is the money used to maintain the land? If that's the case I'd be ok with it. But only if the money actually is used for the land/staff

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well in this case it went back to the school. I agree though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Lol. The land of freedom...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In D.C., all public museums are free and only the private ones like the Holocaust Museum cost money.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I wonder what the absolute reason behind that is? You'd think to something like the holocaust would be free

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

For it being such a topic throughout school years, od think those would be free. Especially as such a reliable source for it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Pretty sure it's because it's funded by a Holocaust remembrance organization and museum upkeep is crazy expensive

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's not owned by the government and thus not funded by tax, so the owners of it need money to keep it running and growing.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Here it depends on the museum. Dallas art museum was free. Most of the things in St. Louis are free. Chicago... not so much.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think it's like that nationwide. Basically, they find the best tit and milk it hard

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

St. Louis zoo is the best zoo IMO because it's free and it's a good zoo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree, being free makes it a wonderful resource. I love walking the zoo, makes a good time.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now Dublin Zoo is a different story. Very expensive.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

San Diego was like $55 or $60 I can't remember exactly. It was pretty cool though, almost didn't get to see pandas, renovation, but waited 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Forty five minutes for one to show up for feeding. When in San Diego, you gotta see the damn panda.
