Better use of his time.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 9

It's his money, I guess.

When society tells you an art degree wont do you any good, but Ross makes you believe.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Read this as Autistic approach. Still made sense.

5 years later: I have so many loans! Why can't I get a job?! My degree is worth something!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 16

*snort* yeah! *snort* only stem degrees matter *snort* *masturbates furiously at my reflection while smugly grinning because I'm so smart*

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Assume much?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I love how people downvote when point out the obvious problem of todays students and post grads. Unless that's an art class, /1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

our artistic friend isn't paying attention. Which means he's not learning. Which means he will suck at his job. Then complain about it.

This. I need to do this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People tell me to do what makes me happy. Sleeping makes me happy. Should I just sleep forever?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So.....nothing?

Hey, I remember posting this my freshman year of college! I love seeing it come up a lot

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll never understand why anyone would spend their time and money on college just to fuck off.

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 10

I did fuck-all in my 1st year, overwhelmed w/ freedom & being surrounded by insta-friends. Took me a year longer to finish school. #worth it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Generally speaking I agree 100% but once in awhile you might need to just take a day off. He might normally pay attention but chillin today

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I am a horrible auditory learner. If I have "noise" such as something to read/watch/hear in addition to the lecture I will remember it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So yeah, I'm often someone you will see doing this but I'm also getting straight A's and actually learning the material.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Might just be an elective class needed for a degree in another field.

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

But why wouldn't you try to get something out of it?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 9

The fact that this has down votes just furthers my suspicion that kids are entitled and lazy.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Might also be a way to relax and focus. Have you all ever listened to Bob?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Poly Sci + Bob = fucking napping coma. He would never make it out alive.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well I would surely be napping lol. I was just hoping it was this dudes way of pulling focus.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's no way you can focus with that amount of slow calm speaking. He's a goner.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Political science" ... how the hell does that work?

8 years ago | Likes 139 Dislikes 34

It isn't real

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 19

They should rename it, “alternative pre-law”. Or just, “pre-law”

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

You use statistical modeling to form/test hypotheses pertaining to political phenomena, e.g. political polarization, voting behavior etc.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I took it in Sophomore year. I came out just as confused about politics as I was before.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesnt.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 12

Just add history and math together. Presto! Polysci nerd.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It’s the study of the distribution of power. Economics is the study of the distribution of wealth. #science

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Analysis of voting behavior, analysis of likelihood of armed conflict, etc. Uses stats to analyze data to test hypotheses. hence science.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

It can also be the study of rhetorics, the dynamics of world politics, typical relationships between centers and edges of a polity, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you not have polysci where you are from? It's basically just what it says. The science of politics, why things are the way they are, etc

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

I took polysci for the credit in college, and thought it was very interesting.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What does it entail? Is it an American thing?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's probably an American thing. It was mostly about different political philosophies, their origins, and how they have impacted society.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, it's very active in Europe as well! But the emphasis can be somewhat different, since ofc the European thinkers are better known here(1)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A sure fire way to piss off political science majors is to say their field of study isn't a science

8 years ago | Likes 133 Dislikes 3

Nah. It's not a science. But you can basically learn everything I learned in four years with the book "The Dictator's Handbook."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Reminds me if the time my sociology professor almost threw a stapler at me because I said anthropology does it better.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Attended graduation at UT for the science grads. Mostly nerds until "Textile Science" which consisted of willowy blondes in high heels.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yah it's more like the art of ass kissing to get into a political office. But it's not thee only application.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 9

Political science has little to do with interpersonal politics.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my mate does a nautical engineering degree which calls itself ship science and neither of us understand why

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah it’s not science at all

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

My one friend was a graphic design major (very talented), but we always have him shit and asked how his “arts and crafts” were going.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

As a poli sci major: it's really not. Although some quantitative analysis is useful, the topic is too uncertain and complex to be effective.

8 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 2

True. I think most poli sci majors only get irritated when someone thinks that =/=Science means it's not worth studying.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I took a class taught by a poli sci prof who explained it as the "science" of gallop polls. Which he claimed isn't a science at all.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

inform political leaders decisions, but politicians sometimes ignore them or try to change public opinion. Political science tries to 2/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(Though Nate Silver and other folks have done great work strengthening polling. Silver correctly predicated every congressional election).4/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Polling is certainly one of the more scientific aspects, but yeah, polls aren't really scientific. But it's only one aspect: polls help 1/

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

understand how and why. 3/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What a bullshit degree.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 37

I'm a chem major and needed to take a political science course because it was a university requirement to take a seminar like that

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You know I've noticed it's mostly people with no degrees who say things like his

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Nah, I have degrees, and I kind of agree. Better than communications, though.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's probably just a class. I had to take it in college and it was a very interesting subject.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Kinda like how I had to take Anthropology, and I found out I really like it. It helped that the professor was really good.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh ok. Fair enough. As part of what course?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

A major in political science

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I took it as part of my general ed. I honestly really enjoyed it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was just one of several options to satisfy the history credits. I studied computer science.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So I understand it’s required as a history for you. But why? How is it even related? Like for me I study nursing. I had to take a 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fine arts class which was required to start the program. We had to write a 1200 word paper over an art subject every week. That was bs

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's called "gen ed"
