Little trivia. In Brazilian folklore, the Amazon river dolphin (Boto Cor-de-Rosa) is a shape-shifter. During full-moon nights, he becomes a tall, handsome man to seduces women, impregnates them, and then disappears before sunrise. The legend was sometimes jokingly used to explain "mysterious" pregnancies or cases in which a woman did not know who the father was, and the children were said to be the Boto’s.

They’re pink because of all the flamingos they eat.

Is this natural? A genetic defect, maybe caused by the human littering of the oceans? Note, I don't know, I really ask this question.

The Amazon river dolphin (Inia geoffrensis), also known as the boto, or pink river dolphin, is a species of toothed whale endemic to South America. The Amazon river dolphin is the largest species of river dolphin, with many adult males reaching 185 kilograms (408 lb) in weight, and 2.5 metres (8.2 ft) in length. Adults acquire a pink color, more prominent in males, giving it its nickname "pink river dolphin". Like other toothed whales, they have a melon, an organ that is used for bio sonar.

Is that what this is? I'd have assumed so but there's a gray one with them which is weird.

Could be a younger dolphin which hasn't acquired the pink yet

Always a fun moment at zoo field trips as teacher tries to shoo the giggling children on to the next exhibit.
