Vantablack, the 2nd blackest substance ever made

Vantablack (Vertically Aligned NanoTube Arrays-black) is composed of carbon nanotubes and absorbs nearly all visible light that strikes it. In fact, only 0.036% of light is reflected. As a result, 3D objects will appear to lose a dimension and appear as 2D. The above image is two identical sculptures, with one covered in vantablack. All depth is lost to the observer.

The only man-made object blacker than vantablack is Spın̈al Tap's Smell the Glove album cover.
