#39 if survival games could get their stairs to build properly, my houses would stop looking like this.

#2 if Microsoft tells you your machine is incompatible with Windows 11 it’s LIES.
You can disable the tpm 2 chip requirement by creating your installation media with Rufus.
If Windows is telling you your hardware is too old or too weak to upgrade it’s LIES. If it ran 10 it will run 11. Hell, if it ran Vista it will likely run 11. It’s essentially the same kernel with some modifications. You can disable hardware checks during the installation with regedit and cmd.
…better yet install Linux.

#2 Well.. 11 is a dumpster fire of an interface on par with 8 for me... soooo....
RoseHarmonic
#39 now this is the value of video games with base building. You put down the stairs and you realize that that was a really stupid place to put the stairs and then you can do something about it and learn in case you build something with actual stairs.

#18 Numbers are overrated, and only useful when you absolutely have to use them. They're hardcoded and therefore useless when they don't reflect the exact value you need. Variables are nice and dynamic.

Turkleturts
The problem with linux is that when something inevitably goes wrong, I don't have my computer to look up the solution. For all its faults, bloatware, and forced copilot bullshit, Win 11 just works.

A few minor complaints and one major complaint but I'm not leaving it.

I finished ODE last semester and am now in Discrete Math. I want to see how they react when their math is literally just riddles.

I'm definitely biased (and hella nerdy) because the proofs were my favorite part of my math degree! Even several years after the fact I still remember the general structure for a proof that every positive integer has a unique prime factorization

Also yes, but I'm old enough that when I read this I went back and looked for a physical clock before realizing that wouldn't be on the screen referred to and realizing you meant the computer clock.
Which is wild, because I didn't think I was THAT old

AllMaktAtTengilVarBefriare
Meaning: He is ashamed but he shouldn't be, he should go "Yeah I like big anime tiddies, what of if?", and make it other people's problem.
Slang: dudes call each other "king" to boost morale and show respect, like women with "queen".

I moved over to Linux for my gaming desktop in spring. It hasn't been painless, but I still would rather have the minor hiccups I've faced than deal with Microsoft's bullshit again.
GiveYourBallsATug69
What distro did you use for gaming? Compatibility is my main concern, despite all the shit you have to deal with with Windows, at least you know games work out of the box.
porcinechoirmaster
I'm pretty comfortable fiddling with things and had some specific requirements (KDE Plasma & ZFS support), so I've been running Arch, but it's decidedly not for beginners.
You *can* run a prepackaged Arch distro (EndeavourOS. CachyOS) if you want, but I'd recommend starting with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS if you have slightly older hardware or Ubuntu 25.10 if you're on brand new hardware, since the LTS release won't have the latest kernel and drivers included.
DestinyPrevails
Ubuntu and Steam Proton works for most modern games and a ton of older ones too. There's a huge Ubuntu gaming community as well, so you can probably find solutions to non-Steam games out there. For your Steam library, check https://www.protondb.com/ to see if it works without needing any fixes.
RevengeIsIceCream
I third the voices for ubuntu. Been working great for my needs.
