Finished my Samus Aran Varia Suit in time for Wondercon!

The entire suit is made from Perler brand fusible beads sewed onto either eva foam or fabric.

I wasn’t able to wear the helmet at the convention due to the hot weather but I could try it on at home after cranking up the AC.

There are lights added behind the green transparent beads to make parts of the suit glow.

Check out my Instagram to see more details on how I made this suit (also other projects I’ve made):

I like this style of cosplay. Very unique, makes it stand out so much more.

Reminds me of the Samus from the Super Metroid game for SNES, the use of beads gives a more pixelated look.

Cool effect =)

I like this style since its nostalgic of the older graphics that introduced a lot of people to the series. Plus pixels are cool.

Aaah! I love it! What a great idea, and such a GOOD JOB! I love the use of multiple colors. It really helps it feel like it's pixelated.

You could add a small shielded fan to the back of the helmet to fix the heat problem

I guess certain people don't realize how much work really went into making something so great as this. Or else they're just jealous.

Not sure about the heels

And the wig.

Zero suit has heels. Original has boots so I can see it.

The high heels came much later. OG Samus didn’t have them, and the Chozo suit certainly never has.

I was just saying the heels don't bother me. Not that OG Samus wore heels. I mean considering the medium it's impressive she did shoes at al
