Keep your legs moving

Monitor your heart rate when training. You will lose time at first but will become much more consistent.

Jack Daniels’ Running Formula is a really good book to help with training.YouTube jack Daniels easy running 2get an idea of what he’s about

Rather than "pushing" off with each stride, practice pulling your heel toward your hamstring. It will enhance your ability to fall forward

OOO okay not heard that one. I'll give it a try thanks!!

Don't forget to breathe.

I do forget quite a lot to be fair!

Congrats OP! Good job on the improvement. It’s hard but you’re doing great.

well, the best way to run is to put one foot in front of the other alternatively, very fast!

Why don't more people do that?!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well done! Don't worry how you look - I look like death when I run, I have been stopped by stewards and asked if I'm ok

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well I hope you are always okay!!

Never not been!

A thing that helped was increasing my step rate. Going from 170/min to 180/min made quite the difference. Plus It’s betyer for your joints.

Oooo okay. I didn't even know I would be counting that at all! I'll use my watch better to see how many I'm doing! Thanks!!

Yeah, a good watch is great as it alows you to track that. Hope it works for you to.

Anyone who gets through a tough mudder is beautiful in my book

On my 4th one this year! I've always kinda very slowly jogged between obstacles though so this one I want to at least go a bit faster!!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Alternate jog and run between obstacles! But I haven’t done one yet so I don’t really know the best strategy other than being insanely fit

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I think that's probably a good shout to begin with else I'm going to be too tired too quick

I’ve heard blood doping can help with that

Breath control really helped me. Inhale 2 steps, exhale 2 steps. Creates a good rythm

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

A couple of years ago I started to inhale 2 steps, exhale 4 steps. It took some time to get used to, but now my pace is faster than ever.

Oh wow that's pretty cool and something to aim for for sure!! Thanks!!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah okay I'll give that a go tomorrow. As I mentioned I do forget to breathe quite a bit!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How'd it go OP?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right now so bad! ???? it's so hard to concentrate on it! I think it helps with regulating my speed though, so I'm going to keep at it!!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm...I wish I knew how to make it go better for you OP. But as long as you keep going that's all that matters!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely won't be giving up anytime soon!
