The point of this post is how I feel when people mock guys for joining cheer. They get all fit and hang out with the hot girls. Ya if they're het they sure are "losing". /s
My cousins made me do pageants. The girls outnumbered us boys so I did a lot of this. Fast forward to high school, she was the drum majorette and I played the sousaphone.
He puts more effort and his own flair on the moves than the others who just dance like they're still remembering the moves rather than feeling the music
I used to do dancing, and it was drilled into our heads that people shouldn't stand out in group performances. It was just a hobby, and there were some performances each year, and oh boy the coach would be mad if people tried to add their own flair into the performance.
I did competitive dance (Latin / Ballroom) as a teen and our coach was always encouraged us to 'explore and show off' providing we had the footwork down pat. Naturally, it depends a lot on the dance genre with Ballroom being somewhat stuffy and Latin being vertical sex with minimal clothing.
Two different types of dancing though, previous commentor's being group performances like above where the point is having a unified thing whereas yours was a one/two person affair.
