nice! ever been down the west coast? Moonlight is a old mining site that had a heap of walks and is super neat to explore

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Drive the west coast but missed moonlight ?. I’ll check it out.

This looks very much like the Yukon! (Northern Canada)

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was there in October. It was amazing

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I would giggle and roll around in the grass

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Zealandia is the neatest continent to me. It periodically rises up out of and periodically sinks back into the ocean. Fascinating stuff

Hey same here! Flight delayed twice so celebrated NYE on the plane but been exploring the beauty on the South Island and seeing family.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Way nicer than that ugly Hawaii-looking North island, huh?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oi!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kiwi here. South Islander :-) You’re right, it is beautiful, and these are beautiful shots. Glad you had a great time in Aotearoa NZ

Always taking Imgurians

Don't play with my emotions...been trying to get a job there for years.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Three amazing weeks. You have a lot to be proud of. All of us were super impressed. Now to sort out my three thousand photos! ;)

Mount Cook, Lake Alta, Queenstown...I went to the exact spots two weeks ago! Are you me

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We probably passed each other!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you were the woman on the Mount Cook track with the umbrella hat and colorful poncho I remember you and I want to be your friend.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, middle aged guy without a hat. Leant it to one of my family who forgot theirs. Sorry to disappoint.

Queenstown is my favourite place on earth :)

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nicest in the morning before the traffic - but stunning right?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which one is Mt Doom, is it also nice this time of year or too many orcses?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And there are more dehydrated tourists up there at this time of year than orcs

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mt Doom (aka Mt Ngauruhoe) is in the North Island. I have spent half my life on each island and recommend seeing both if possible

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can even climb Mt Doom/Ngauruhoe as a side trip to the Tongariro Crossing. You have to bring your own ring-bearer though:

I feel like New Zealand would be too warm for me. Beautiful, though. A nice place to vacation as well. Handling Covid like a boss.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When I visited the south island, I noted the LARGE stacks of firewood for the winter. Farmers also grow hedges, about 20 feet high ..> 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 and 100 feet long, to protect stock from cold winds.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

was low 20's most days while I was there.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

F or C?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

C

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ooof. That's pretty warm. Still, beautiful country.

Good morning to Aoraki / Mt Cook! Great shots. Arrowtown was my home for 14 years, did you get there?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did! Once on Christmas day when it was shut apart from a coffee shop and beautifully peaceful, and again last week. SO busy!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, staff shortages means Xmas day can be shut. Lovely town.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Staff shortages in every town we visited. Hotels half shut. Lots of jobs in hospitality if you can afford to live there.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s what I did! F&B Manager at big hotel. But after 14 years and kids left home we cashed up. Christchurch now, but miss the beauty.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That guy on the loud speaker in Christchurch ruined my sleep. 12pm Yelling about Jesus outside my window. I asked him to stop but he refused

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My girlfriend has NZ citizenship and wants us to move there from London in the next few years, this is making a very strong case

3 years ago | Likes 149 Dislikes 0

You must first live in Australia for 5 years before getting permission to permanently live in NZ.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would kill for that chance. Been trying to get a visa for years. GO.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Do it just so you can know you did it. Life is short. Do things.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

GOOOOOOO! Go now you idiot! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine wants us to move from here to London in the next few years! I dont wana leave!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't forget your sunscreen.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Is there spiders like Australia

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Source? Doesn’t seem to state a location or date

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The location is Wellington, and I got it from a mastodon post shared by a friend who lives in New Zealand.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Dude fking flee that shithole and go live in paradise. Best decision you’ll ever make in your life

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ah London's pretty cool, a world class art/restaurant/theatre/museum/music scene, (also my friends and family) which I'd miss

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So no need to rag on it... unless you're from London, then yeah, fair cop... but I'll be honest, clean air and mountains sound pretty good

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve been to both places extensively and to me it’s no contest which one wins. The pleasures of London are simply pale in comparison.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i just got my visa last month, my gf also from nz, we'll leave in a month :))

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice! Also I understand NZ is a bit more progressive with visas for partners right, as in don't have to get married?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yup, they dont care if you are married, you have to prove it is a real and stable partnership

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

IDK what I'd do for work though, her family are all sheep farmers, beyond being big and strong I have no useful skills for a rural life

3 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

You can learn, and if you don’t mind it’s a nice life. If you want to, you can do it. I have faith in you.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like the main requirements for rural life are being big and strong.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Dude, as long as she doesn't catch you cheating on her fucking the sheeps, it will all be ok.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Remote work? Farming is probably something you could pick up if you want to. Hard work tho.
