I used to think these were giant bugs as a child and was afraid of them.

The next time the Oz govt wants to introduce a foreign animal I vote for Hummingbirds. Not foxes, rabbits, cane toads etc. Sloths good too.

When I see stuff like this, it just makes me thankful for the fact that humming birds don’t crave blood.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t know whether to be scared or aw-struck

Smart who would of thought. World domination by way of humming birds. Hummmm

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, they're so intent on feeding they're hardly even fighting, much.

The mountain town / area my wife & I are moving to is lousy with hummingbirds. Just hang out a feeder and wait for it to be found.

How do you know those aren’t just hornets in humming bird costumes?

This winter, we’ve had 4 of them nonstop coming to feeder on porch. Thru freezing and snow, they are out there everyday. Very odd this year

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I have a feeder out on my carport and i usually see one or two at a time but they fight each other away. Do yours do that?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ours did that at my mom's house. They can be territorial. We had this tiny one that would scare off all the bigger ones, though just males.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They are so pretty though

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, sometimes 2 will be at the feeder, but they definitely get rowdy sometimes and push each other out of the way, or scare each other off.

I love those little jerks
