More progress on my dragon bust sculpture! Thinking it's pretty much done. Just need to bake it and possibly paint it as well. Although I do like it with the unfinished look! First dragon I've sculpted, think I might do a few more, it was tons of fun to make! Sits at about 9" high. Will probably sell it when it's done too.

Do you use any sort of armature in the spikes? I also sculpt and occasionally have trouble with pieces like that drooping while baking. :(

Not for the spikes no, just for the body. I use the firm sculpey it holds the detail really well

Hmm I use premo for how durable it is, when I tried firm I didn't like how brittle it can be in thin areas. Maybe I'll try a mix of the two.

It's very flexible and strong. I've baked a very thin strip and bent it back and forth over 60+ times without it breaking. But like I said

It has a little more of a tendancy to droop during baking a bit for things like spikes if there is no armature in them. Your piece is
