Dear fellow imgurians, I present to you this theory

TL;DR Time travel doesn't change the future.

So today (being the 7th of December in Canada), was thinking of time travel, and how if there is and will be time travel, the time traveller has always been a part of history. Which means that it doesn't matter what they do, time travel will still exist.
Hypothetically someone from the year 2099 travels back to 1889 and have a baby. They name this baby Adolf (this being a time where Adolf is now an accepted name for children). So this young Adolf Hitler has been brought into this world. Maybe the mother wasn't taught about WW2. So they unknowingly bring a mister Adolf Hitler into the world and he kills 6 million Jewish people. What I'm trying to say is, is that it doesn't matter if you change the past the future will stay the same.

These time machines dont seem to account for space coordinates. In the past the earth was in a different position and same for the future.

Consider this, if I travel back to any time, I'm taking viruses and germs from my time. That would cause a global pandemic.

That could explain smallpox or the bubonic plague

But the theory is that if young Marty there in 1985 knows about WW2 and decides to use his sweet Delorean 1/3

to travel back to 1890 and kill young Adolf to save said 6 million innocent lives 2/3

we today would not know about WW2 because it most likely would not have happened! 3/3

No because, if he went to the past. In the timeline of history he was always in the there at that time. What happened, happened.

That makes no sense because the change was made which impacted the timeline. I think what you mean to say is that events in the timeline (1)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

are set, and therefore if time travel does exists the events they caused were always present in the timeline. in other words what they do(2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

was always meant to happen.

Okay... How is that though.. I mean if she didn't give birth to Hitler... Wouldn't the original future be different from the one we're in no

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cause she gave birth to Hitler leading to WW2... So she did change the future just unknowingly.. Right?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, because she was always meant to travel back in time. it was always history.
