hey. sure I can help you. but would you mind waiting a moment while I google the laws on this? please wait right there.
if they want to advance while you've asked for space, I'm sure a lawyer can help. Just get on your phone and continue to ask them to please wait a minute. after that, its up to them to break the law.
if them breaking the law means nothing, then ya know only street smarts can save you now.

If you're in a position that you can arrest me. you don't need to ask me nicely.

This is not about safety. This is about shoring up overpriced weed at licensed dealers.

…a plant

all for a plant

Cannabis sativa, C. indica, and C. ruderalis

The complicity to “just follow orders…” is what really gets it for me…and I don’t even smoke ganja…! The blind eye to a fellow human, that is “all in a day’s work…” is what will make the coming fascist state unbreakable for an age that will span the globe for generations…

First off, fuck republicans like Giuliani, but I have bad news for you about democratic mayors in most major cities. They are some of the most corrupt fuckers around (Andre Dickens, Eric Adams, Jacob Frey, the guy in Chicago) and it really sucks that the people who look good in the mayoral elections always end up being so dishonest and corrupt.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, they just are regular americans. Check!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's NYC, pretty sure being corrupt af is a requirement to even run for mayor.

like one that comes in mind, Rudy Giuliani

Because in some states police are allowed to come in and inspect tobacco shops (as well as alcohol and gun shops) for compliance (such as having tax stamps, licenses, etc.) Those states do not require a warrant for the inspection and the owner would know that since they had to sign paperwork that stated as much in order to get the license. Therefore, the shop manager/owner should have told his employee the correct protocol.

1 year ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 6

Then police should have explained that properly, because doing otherwise looks to anyone else that they are breaking the law

1 year ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

However as per section 132 [1(b)], you are within your rights to refuse the inspection at the risk of a fine. If refused, the officer must seek a court order and to acquire one, they must show that there is reasonable cause to suspect that the business may be operating illegally.

Please provide basic info like when and where, and a reliable news source if possible. It’s the difference between rage bait and something we can actually use.

The regulatory inspection process was outlined in the 2021 state law legalizing cannabis use. A section of that law enshrines the right of individuals to refuse a regulatory inspection, though subjects them to a civil fine if they do so. Once a regulatory inspection is refused, then the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) or its board must request a court order, the law says.

The cops were out of line here

If it’s in America and they do not provide a search warrant then we don’t need to see much else. Also, very easy to find this article.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah it's also easy to post a source on this website

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Since when do random inspections need 5 fucking cops going immediately into "We'll arrest you"? Should be an administrative worker with a single policeman escort and one outside on stand by feels like, this is mob shit man, even in proper context this comes off as wrong as hell.

1 year ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

Cops walk into every situation just waiting to threaten arrest to get what they want. Been that way for decades.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I count seven.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

what when and where would make this ok?

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 45

If this is a 10 year old video where the police involved have all been fired, there's less for me to be concerned about, and less for others in their community to take action about. If it's here and now, action should be taken, and I'd want some follow up.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

ok so then its ok if its 10 years old? what makes you think they'd be fired?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

NYker here. Basic info means we can follow up and make sure these Bad Cops are punished. We can complain to our Councilman, and organize our neighborhoods. Do you want ACTION or is this just "ragebait"?

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

thats not what hes saying. hes saying dont trust your own eyes and ears, maybe its something else. just ignore the injustice..not sure what your message is, because yeah obviously contact authorities if you have their names. dont post it here. and dont discredit this w such obvious bullshit. bootlicker.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Unsourced ragebait weakens us...and may be propaganda. These days, when info is so freely available, I distrust ANYONE who holds back details. It costs nothing to provide a link. You should distrust them, too. Even when they seem to be on your side.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

This video may be cut in some sort so viewers dont get all the information there is. Maybe the police did show him a warrant but it was cut out of the video. Who knows.

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 13

so they showed him a warrant and didnt mention it when he asked for a warrant? that makes fuckall sense. im all for valid skepticism but unwarranted not so much. if you cant come up with a valid scenaria this is just bootlicking

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 17

Actually i dont care that much what seems to happen in america so.. yeah..

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 9

Exactly it was never about valid skepticism , just a weak cowardly excuse to ignore injustice

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

It's not okay at best... but how are you going to make use of the video other than for inducing anger without it? Is there any partly mitigating context that people will use as a 'gotcha' if you try and use it even for that?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

kinda like vids of ever wrong/atrocity? if we cant stop them we should pretend they dont exist? wtf is your point

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Most of those have good details, context, and backing, making them useful for targetted action and protest, letting people know who precisely to get mad at, how you can take action, how we can reduce or prevent it in the future.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

they dont. when you see pics of bombed buildings in ukraine or gaza there usually isnt more context and ppl rarely ask because they know the context. yet when you see cops breaking the law suddenly hordes of bootlickers go well achhhchually...

Shameful to just show up and not carry the paperwork like a real professional admin.

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

Stop making balanced assessments with your "knowledge" and "facts"

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

The irony that it's not balanced and it's false, because it's a cannabis shop in NYC where the inspection can be refused and a court order is needed if the inspection is refused.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wouldn’t that be ATF though? Not the sheriff?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Yeah, they can be searched for a regulatory purpose, not a criminal one. The shopkeeper can refuse the sudden inspection, but they are supposed to be fined, not arrested. Refusal to be searched requires a court order to be overridden. Any violation of their license results in civil charges, not criminal ones. So, your reply is misleading at best, and false at worst.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 4

It would've been nice if the cops said that instead of threatening them, though. Maybe cite the specific law to prove to them that it is required to submit to inspection. Not saying it's not legally, just saying it was handled brutishly

1 year ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 2

You used cops and nice in the same sentence. Was that intentional?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes because I also said would've been, as in, don't expect it to be

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thugs don't care about due process. Biggest gang in the United States.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cops generally don't know much about laws. They're taught the absolute basics in law and a lot more in how to drive and use violence. My cousin and uncle are both cops. I've had to explain to both of them some very basic constitutional law and I'm not even a lawyer.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep that's my point, if they had actually been trained it would take 5 minutes in the squad car to do a quick memorization of the law that they couldn't name... even lawyers can't cite everything off the top of their head, they refresh themselves before they go to court. Those cops should do the same. Or should be REQUIRED to do the same, i really mean

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah constitutional law is basically the process of appealing the convictions of people who were unlawfully arrested and sentenced, often years after they've been in jail. And the lawyers doing that work make nothing compared to corporate lawyers. That's a pretty fucked system as opposed to training cops so they don't make illegal arrests to begin with.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fact that there's no news link or anything else that's verified that'll give context is sus too. Rage bait and there're bites.

All valid points, but i’d love to see their attitude and demeanor in other legal administrative searches, especially when it’s of someone whiter.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

@Scar1203 so it tirns out it's a weed shop, and according to this article, there's a section of the law where shopkeepers can refuse the search (tho them they are automatically fined) OP shouldve had this in the post https://www.thecity.nyc/2024/06/03/video-nypd-cannabis-raid-adams-hochul/

The shopkeeper should have been aware of the law, but those cops had every opportunity to de-escalate the situation and explain in clear and simple terms what the law requires, but instead they were rude, hostile, and then physically aggressive. Anyone with any socials skills would have been able to handle that shopkeeper very easily. There's a culture of bullying and brutality in law enforcement, and this video illustrates that.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

Hey. Found the bootlicker!

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

You must love the taste of boots.

They could have told him what law they had the right to do the search under, but cops don’t need to know the law and they don’t need to tell the truth.

Damn, frankly as a Norwegian I'd feel safer going for a vacation in North-Korea, at least there a local law enforcement officer follows me around to make sure I don't get into this situation.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

(And even as a Norwegian I'd rather go to North Korea, they have some truly spectacular geology and I won't get shot in a traffic stop. Nor will I get put in a police car on a railroad track and get hit by a train)

Violated civil and constitutional rights over a mere pound of weed. And they probably weighed it in the container it was stored in. REALLY making the streets safer -_-

You mean a half pound of weed

"pound" of "weed"
