Hotel Mgr: "We have some ceiling work we need done"
Contractor: "No problem! Which ceiling?"
Hotel Mgr: "Above the pool"
Contractor: "Well we need to drain the pool, put special mats down, build a scaffold and it will be thousands of dollars and your pool will be closed for weeks"
Hotel Mgr: "What!!?? That's preposterous. Isn't there another way?"
Contractor: "Um...well...maybe. I'll see what I can do"

This makes my stomach hurt

But why… why wouldn’t you use regular scaffolding with pads on the bottom. The water isn’t that deep!

I applaud whoever figured out how big the floatation mat needed to be

That’s assuming they figured it out and didn’t just use the mats that it fit on/they had and got lucky.
