Israel does not mind other countries talking about the unconfirmed Israeli nuclear weapons program. Letting other countries know they have the bomb, without actually saying they have the bomb, creates enough uncertainty that you have to assume they really do have the bomb, whether they do or not.

Well known. Israel is not a member of the IAEA so they have no requirement to say anything at all about their nuclear ambitions. Iran has joined the IAEA, originally to develop nuclear power plants so they can use less of their oil and thus export more.

They are member of IAEA but they never signed Non-Proliferation Treaty, which is the relevant international document why they don't have to report their weapon status. Iran was part of Non-Proliferation Treaty as a non nuclear weapon state so they were in violation by having a weapons program. North Korea withdrew from the treaty shortly before finalizing their bomb. That's why they're sanctioned and Israel (and Pakistan and India who also didn't sign shit and have nuclear bombs) is not.

Just before the war, Iran had actually agreed to basically the same agreement again, but Trump demanded they should give even more or else he would attack.... and here we are.

Unfair number of down votes on this one. I think it's a legit question. There's little that redeems Israel as a nation. But just because Iran is hitting them doesn't make Iran easier to characterize. It's an extremely convoluted and layered reality that few can truly summarize or even understand. Except for the fact that starting this war with Iran is blatantly criminal and unbelievably stupid.

Thanks. The above wasn't intended as a defense of Israel in general or of trump/Israels Iran campaign in particular.
It was aimed at that particular point. Which as I mentioned I wasn't even aware of having been part of the deal for them to adhere to, but neither was it my understanding that they stopped terror orgs (for a given value of terrorist, freedom fighter yada yada).
