Yeah, but Israel is a responsible actor, they have only attacked all their neighbor a few dozen times, and sometimes they even rest between their genocidal campaigns!
Illegal nuclear stockpile? I thought Israel had Above the board Nukes. what is this, Secret nukes? Does israel have both regular legal nukes aswell as secrety hidden illegal nukes?
Israel does not mind other countries talking about the unconfirmed Israeli nuclear weapons program. Letting other countries know they have the bomb, without actually saying they have the bomb, creates enough uncertainty that you have to assume they really do have the bomb, whether they do or not.
Iran refuses the IAEA - The U.S. will sanction you! Israel refuses the IAEA or to declare how many nuclear weapons they have - The U.S. will continue to to be your strongest ally and pay for your citizens free healthcare while ours get shit.
Well known. Israel is not a member of the IAEA so they have no requirement to say anything at all about their nuclear ambitions. Iran has joined the IAEA, originally to develop nuclear power plants so they can use less of their oil and thus export more.
They are member of IAEA but they never signed Non-Proliferation Treaty, which is the relevant international document why they don't have to report their weapon status. Iran was part of Non-Proliferation Treaty as a non nuclear weapon state so they were in violation by having a weapons program. North Korea withdrew from the treaty shortly before finalizing their bomb. That's why they're sanctioned and Israel (and Pakistan and India who also didn't sign shit and have nuclear bombs) is not.
It is an "open secret", because if the US acknowledged it then a bunch of laws would kick in that they would have to ignore. Even with stories like this they'll still pretend it isn't really confirmed so it doesn't count.
Only when zionists write op-eds in which they threaten the entire world with nuclear winter and "tut-tutting European statesmen and peace activists" with nuclear attacks on Europe. To take us with them "in the ovens" should we ever lapse in our support for this genocidal terror state. This wasn't written by some mouth-foaming Likud member but by a professor at Louisiana State University: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2002-apr-07-op-perlmutter-story.html
Also cute: "If … Israel had acted just a bit like the Third Reich, then today Israelis would shop, eat pizza, marry and celebrate the holy days unmolested. And of course Jews, not sheiks, would have that Gulf oil." His excuse for thinking like a nazi? The Arab World accuses "Jews" (read: israel) of acting like Nazis, so he might as well play the part even though he supposedly hates it.
A reminder that Iran signed the NPT, they agreed to hand over all of their enriched material (in exchange for civilian power generation technology) and agreed to stop support of terror groups... trump killed this agreement his first year in office.
Israel is a rogue terror states that inserts explosives in their consumer electronics.
Not only did Trump kill the agreement solely because it was made under Obama.
Just before the war, Iran had actually agreed to basically the same agreement again, but Trump demanded they should give even more or else he would attack.... and here we are.
To be fair - I don't kinda don't want to, but I guess that's when principles matter - was Iran holding up the last of these (support of terror groups)?
My understanding is that no, so this isn't a JAQing, but if I am mistaken I would like to be enlightened otherwise?
(Counter-fairness, was that an actual part of the agreement of the Obama era agreement? I don't recall it being, but that of course doesn't mean much)
Unfair number of down votes on this one. I think it's a legit question. There's little that redeems Israel as a nation. But just because Iran is hitting them doesn't make Iran easier to characterize. It's an extremely convoluted and layered reality that few can truly summarize or even understand. Except for the fact that starting this war with Iran is blatantly criminal and unbelievably stupid.
Thanks. The above wasn't intended as a defense of Israel in general or of trump/Israels Iran campaign in particular.
It was aimed at that particular point. Which as I mentioned I wasn't even aware of having been part of the deal for them to adhere to, but neither was it my understanding that they stopped terror orgs (for a given value of terrorist, freedom fighter yada yada).
Hence my correction that the JCPOA did not address that aspect of Iranian policy.
TBH, for minority groups in the region, only Iran is standing up to Israeli aggression and terror... IDF has killed 100x as many civilians as Hamas or Hezbollah have.
You are more than invited to go through my comment history, I don't think I exhibit any particularly bot-like behavior beyond disagreeing with you, but alright.
FWIW, the above wasn't a pro-this Iran bombing campaign statement. It was aimed at that particular point which was to my understanding incorrect.
Yup iran is open to inspection and willing to basically water down thier supply so it wasn't a threat. Maybe if we stopped bombing the crap out of them they would stop wanting to build weapons. Its so simple its crazy.
Im For dismantling Isreal. The jews and Palestinians had lived there before. And destroying zionism ideology. Im against all religions personally. Especially when they say things like." Were better than you, and you should die for us because of it"
Yup and thats why we're here. Because no one wants to stand up for international law, and call Isreal what it is. A fucking terrorist state. They dont want peace they want genocide and to scrape up whats left of the land.
Israel is still number 1, Russia holds 2nd place and the US us 3rd. During Kissinger era US was prolly holding the lead on atrocities in foreign countries.

A takeaway from our attack on Iran is this: every country that doesn't have nukes is under imminent threat of being attacked by the US.

No one will believe this, but I was eating lunch behind Taco Bell, Obama years, heard Rush Limbaugh saying, "Why shouldn't Iran have nukes?"

It'd an open secret. I don't think it's officially recognised by anyone. But everyone knows it to be true.
Level21Magikarp
To the US Congress it is a head in the sand secret.

It is not officially known because an admission that Israel had nukes would trigger a law cutting them off from any sort of aid.

The IAEA routinely verified that Iran was complying with every aspect of the nuclear portion of the JCPOA
I misspoke as there was no part of JCPOA that addressed Iran's support of irredentist groups... It was purely a nuclear agreement.

I did not dispute the first part (I am, or was I suppose, for the agreement).
Re the second part, yeah that was my recollection as well. But on you having mentioned it I had to question that.
