Looks like AI slop

You had to be super nice for that three month courting period so you could marry them and then you owned them. Modern men realise it's a marathon; no point attracting a woman using a fake personality cos it won't last (although plenty of men who complain about being single should try actually changing their personality permanently)

10 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

That's true.
Does it change the fact that they were polite and charming and Nanna notices that today's guys aren't?
My son's are polite and charming to everyone because they were raised to be.
Not because they are trying to get something other than respect.
Their SO's and their families all talk to me about how they are old fashioned gentlemen.
All of their real friends are like that too, I notice that most of their friends are from other cultures with more strict morals.

Life does shift when you cross the line of “fuckable” to “middle aged non-cougar”.
But, as someone who was fat & awkward in middle school before she became pretty? If you’re an asshole to fat little girls you’re the same ones to older women. Nothing I haven’t seen before. And it’s kind of like letting the trash take itself out. Going to be an asshole bc you don’t care who someone is outside of potential penis polisher? Nice to know. I’ll hire/tip/invite the other guy instead.

Horrible thing to assume about men, that they're only kind or polite or whatever because they want to "bang" someone. What a distateful bit of shitty boomer humour. Gross.

Maybe it's all the nasty opinions and lack of respect you give to them... or I'm just projecting my grandma... who knows.

My 6th grade daughter is already 5’5”, some kid at a track meet tried to grab her ass, she knocked him out with one punch, never seen anything like that from her before, when I ran up to her she straight up said, “he has no right to touch me” never have been prouder of here got kicked out and she set a pr, I’m good with the overall result

10 months ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

She's 23 now, but coached daughters sports for years. Run enough lines conditioning, and 5th grade girls will be happy to sit and get into some shit. I learned how so much from those untarnished minds, but can tell you that within three weeks, new policies had been written at school, and perhaps a couple of very aggressive, unsettled boys had conversations with some older brothers. I heard about apologies and two boys showed up at games to support the girls. Not perfect but hopeful for humility

10 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Other kid is bullshit, but your daughter's reaction is awesome. Hopefully the other kid learned some manners.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I remember when my daughter was that age. A boy kept trying to touch her. She kicked him in his junk. When I asked her what happened, she said, "Well, I kicked him in his shin. Except it wasn't his shin... then he just fell down" he kept his hands to himself after that.

10 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I hope you raised hell. The groper should have been kicked out, not your daughter.

They were both kicked out, she got let back in to run her anchor in the relay after speaking to the officials , he was banned from competition

You can't be serious?
She's an eighty year old white woman.
When she was young boys wore a tie when they called to take her out and said " Yes sir" "Thank you mam" to anyone older than them, so she saw how young men talked to eighty year old women and can judge it against young men of today.
I don't think your head works the same as mine.
Some people still talk like that.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 38

I assume you were born in the early 1940s, if you're in the best position to judge. But even if you lived through that time, you certainly weren't exposed to the diverse social classes and environments in which young men's behavior would likely have varied considerably. Furthermore, there remains the problem that superficial politeness couldn't compensate for the restricted roles and neglected rights of women at that time.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Right?
All of that could be true*.
Exactly none of that changes the woman's statement, from her lived experience, does it?
Just think about this question for a moment before you answer.
There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom.
( *All of that isn't true but that's not the point either, my extended family included gangsters and bank managers both of whom were married to their childhood sweetheart for over 60 years I might point out.)

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Would these be the same men that if they scored before marriage they were cool and boys will be boys, but the women who they did it with were “easy” and “loose”?

Boys wore ties for picture because fuck knows when they’ll get their picture taken again. They didn’t run around dressed like that.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

Your tone is awfully sarcastic for someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I don't know what I'm talking about?
In 1945 they already had mass produced cameras and most middle class families had their own.
No one was dressing up for a family snapshot.
I'm only sarcastic with people that make stupid comments about subjects that they know nothing about.
Guys picking up a girl from her parents house dressed up and spoke politely.
I watched them do it when they were taking my sister out.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

My mom was born in 1959 and her parents didn’t have a camera til she was five. Sweeping generalizations are usually wrong.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yeah, women in the 60s were famous for how equally men treated them and for not being looked down upon or controlled.

10 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Isn't that different than polite and charming?. why don't you bring up pay disparity as well?
And are you saying there isn't a problem with that today?

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 14

You have a weird concept of what's polite or charming if being treated as an inferior, being condescended to, and having your autonomy ignored is considered either of those things.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Is that what you think I wrote?
It isn't.
That's on you not me.
It's a comprehension problem.
The old woman talked about the young men being polite and charming.
I contend that they definitely were polite and charming.
I didn't disagree one time that a lot of them were being polite and charming with an ulterior motive.
I don't condone that ulterior motive.
You seem to struggle with reading comprehension.
That's on you not me.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah, everyone gets what you are saying. We are simply making counterpoints. Everything you've said here reveals how badly you failed to read what i said. Nothing I said was about anything ulterior. That you think your inability to understand the counterpoints is anyone else's reading comprehension issue is both laughable and entirely on you.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Oh you are right, its polite and charming to grope women freely in the workplace openly with no repercussions. ALso, trump is 78 years old my guy, Massive support from older generations. They do not give one single flying fuck about politeness, fuck off.

10 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Name checks out at least.
Who said groping women was polite and charming?
That's a reading comprehension thing.
I keep forgetting that the average American reading level is equivalent to that of a 7th or 8th grader (12 to 14 years old). While 4 in 5 US adults are considered literate, a significant number, about 1 in 5, read at or below a Level 1, indicating difficulty with understanding printed or digital materials.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

Stop talking about reading comprehension when you dont havy any, you little dumb shit.

When she was 13, older men incl. relatives started giving her creepy "compliments" or copped a feel because they knew she'd be too embarrassed to tell anyone. When she walked past construction sites she was mercilessly catcalled. Her first boyfriend drove out into the sticks and she knew if she didn't give him at least a handjob he might leave her there to walk all the way back in heels. And her first boss expected a daily blowjob, which she couldn't report to anyone. It was that or being fired.

10 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yep some of that even happens today.
Not sure if it changes her point.
They were on the whole polite.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

It happened a LOT more back then because women couldn't talk about it and had no legal recourse. No workplace protections, no laws against sexual harassment or even marital rape. Men were polite as long as there were other people within earshot, unless those people were their peers whom they sought to impress like the construction site catcallers. Nowadays, their colleagues would give them an earful about their behavior, but back then men didn't scold other men for grabbing the waitress's butt.

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Not to mention how impolite men could become once they were married. So many women frequently walked into doors & fell down stairs. Many turned to alcohol b/c it was the only way to endure the knowledge that their husband raped the kids. And if they demanded a divorce, their husbands had the legal power to have them admitted to a mental hospital. Some dollar bills changed hands, their wife was diagnosed with hysteria & lobotomized. Still able to cook & clean but otherwise barely mentally present

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Some people certainly behaved like that.
Lots of them.
Child rape wasn't happening in every house though.
Does any of that negate the old woman's point ?
I get that you think some of those polite boys were only being polite for other reasons than their upbringing.
Don't you understand the difference between these two positions?
