There's no maybe.

Guess it's the *North's* time to withdraw from the Union -- and **keep** the civil rights.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There’s no maybe about it. We absolutely did not punish the confederate traitors anywhere near harshly enough.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shoulda kept burning.

What’s this “maybe” shit?? We absolutely didn’t punish them enough. They should have been utterly wiped off the face of the earth.

and nature will provide an unlimited source of water to put it out by completely submerging florida. Cmon, Earth.. extend the gulf of mexico

5 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That’s one of their objectives, and we do know some of the Supreme Justices have been bribed.

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And at least 4 on the Supreme Court - perhaps 5 - are Opus Dei catholics.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They hate black people. No debate. They HATE black people.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's not that the Deocrats will lose people... they'll just lose all representative power.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, Dems would have to win by +5 to get 50/50 house representation

America needs a hero

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

America is rapidly becoming a joke at this stage.
A dangerous armed joke, but still.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This works... until it doesn't.

Gerrymandering like this relies on having majorities in every district - but that means that there are narrower margins than if they kept things the way they are and put large amounts of Democrats in certain districts. Which means that, if too many Democrats vote, of if enough moderates decide to vote Democrat, or if they piss off enough of their base, or anything else happens to erode their support... The ENTIRE SOUTH could end up voting Blue.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course, they will do a lot of harm before that happens. But when it does.... It will be 1865 all over again. And maybe this time, we do it *right*.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Biden fucked up should have added 3 seats to the nacho bell grande court.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They already did this back when Obama was president and now it's worth

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

General Sherman told us to kill them all or we would just be back here again in a few generations. Turns out he was right and not hunting down and killing all the confederates down to the last drummer boy, and court clerk was a mistake.

5 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

We couldn't go full Israeli on them. The right thing to do would have been to actually punish most of the leaders, financially and socially (prison, prison + fines, etc) instead of pardoning them all as way to 'hope we get back together', and lifting up the people they'd oppressed with support and education and positions of leadership.

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Maybe but a dead man is no longer a threat to anyone. Also it was the 1800's going full Israeli was pretty much standard procedure in military conflicts. In fact I can not think of another conflict like the civil war that ended with fewer reprisals for those that started it.

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah but we get to have a sequel. Only the best wars get to add a number to the back.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

we didnt punish the confederates for shit after the war, some dumbass extended a hand if friendship instead of a noose and here we are

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Here we are 160 years later - with virtually every demographic map from infant morality to poverty to life expectancy showing a clear delineation along the line that separated the confederacy from the Union.
The amount of human suffering caused by not correcting the mistake of granting a surrender is so vast as to be incomprehensible by any single person.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you spread that blue across more districts they become more competitive and might incentivize more voters to come out.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 11

if literal nazis wouldnt get them to turn out, nothing will.

5 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Voter turnout went down last election, so obviously you are wrong. Why is the real question.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Voter turnout going down literally proves my point, I dont know what you are on about.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Suppression, hopelessness, Harris was late to the race and didn't say particularly much beyond "I'll be Biden 2.0", more and more people are overworked and lack the time to vote (made worse by aformentioned suppression).

Anger will hopefully supplant hopelessness, and an actual candidate (hopefully inspired by the NYC mayoral race) to fan those flames could turn things around, which is why the GOP is doubling down on suppression (buying machines, gerrymandering).

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The last two are literal non-factors when it comes to actual Nazi's, and while there definitely was suppression, it wouldn't have been enough to likely change the presidency, maybe in Congress to have prevented a majority.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Thanks for not being one of these hopeless crybabies. We've been through MUCH worse stuff in the past, as a country; we'll get through this. There might be blood, but we'll make it.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, we havent been through worse in this country, and while I do share the sentiment that we will pull through, it won't be soon. This is going to be a long shitty ride.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Considering how Trump's second term and Project 2025 have been going so far, I honestly can't imagine any reason why the supreme court wouldn't do this. It pretty much guarantees that the Democratic party would have as much chance of winning national elections as the Libertarian party has now. They're not going to let that opportunity go by.

5 months ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

anybody who thinks we will have an election in 2028 is wrong. Trump WILL have a third term.

And I'm flabbergasted that people still don't understand that. Democracy in America is over

5 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

We say Trump will have a third term and right wingers say "no way, you're being ridiculous" but then it will happen and those same people will tell you it's not actually a big deal and actually a good thing

5 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I keep trying to tell people this without sounding crazy.

But it's super clear, made moreso by the day. They have no intention of releasing power, and this wouldn't even make it a hassle to do so; let alone directly rigging anything.

5 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I don't even know how it would sound crazy. The US military openly operating on US soil. Senate, House, and the Supreme Court overwhelmingly in support of Trump. Redistricting that makes fair elections impossible, free press kicked out of White House briefings, loyalty purges of the higher ranks of the military, creation of Trump's personal military (ICE)

It's not subtle

5 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Trump won’t have a third term, but only because his body is falling apart and he won’t live that long.

5 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Only the good die young. And I get that Trump isn't well but they'll keep his decomposing body in the throne for at least another term

lol Kinda makes me think that whacky med bed video has some degree of truth to it. /s But for real, how else are they managing to keep his rotting carcass alive?

The issue is we have wide swaths of the country where there is no collection of photos of maga lawn signs in front of houses.

That can start today though...

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Quite the paradox.

5 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 6

I thought we had solved that

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

we did. by acknowledging that the tolerance paradox is a social contract we can proceed with all its blessings while changing nothing. The tolerant left have conditions to their tolerance.

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Not even a little bit. Either your party to The Treaty Of Tolerance, or I get the joy of teaching you what scaphism is.

5 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

More than a little bit...

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And so there is no misunderstanding;. We mean kill them in as brutal a fashion as ones conscience will allow

5 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 2

sorry, I have no conscience when it comes to bigots.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think you have anything to feel sorry about. Explore your brutality, free from any guilt.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I disagree. I don't want suffering because I'm not a psychopath, I just want them gone so they can no longer harm innocent people.

It's not about rage, it's cold practicality. A civilized society cannot exist with them as a part of it, so they must be removed.

5 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

I'm fine with suffering; as long as it serves a purpose. Hell, to be horribly reductive, empathy is just the wisdom one gains from suffering.
More importantly, choices have consequences. If you choose to be an intolerant human, you've already chose suffering.
So suffer those consequences & never expect me to feel anything but relief.

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

To further clarify: I also do not want people to suffer.
Have you ever had your heart broken? Have you ever broken a heart?
I'd argue experiencing those two things are among the worst suffering a human can experience in their entire life. And among the most important.
I would even argue its critical to ones development as a human, that one suffer in both these ways.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Look at the folks who agree with you. Now look atvyour own post. Mass murder? Really? The halls of history are littered with tyrants who believed their reason for mass murder was justified. History might not repeat but it sure does echo and buddy your song sounds familiar. The irony is thick and sick.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Look, I don't know how else to explain to you that selfish, abusive monsters cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. Our refusal to remove them endangers countless innocent people because we prioritize their right to hate over the right of others to feel safe.

That shit has gotta stop. They need to decide what is more important: Their hatred or being part of a civilized society. One or the other, because they cannot coexist.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Mass murder is the only answer" sure run with it. History looks kindly on all those who felt the same.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

But to your second point; it can be two things. We're so far past needing simple Justice to balance the scales, it's perverse.
What is needed now is a Reckoning.

5 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I don't care if removing them is putting them in the dirt or tossing them in a cell or putting them on a ship. I want them gone so we can make something better.

I mean "exterminate" is the language of the enemy. Be careful when you fight monsters that you do not become one.

5 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 17

Nah. Extermination of people because of arbitrary, inherent qualities (Things beyond an individual's control) is different from extermination of those who choose to abandon the social contract and support the former action.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey whatever you need to justify mass murder lol I'm sure all the other guys thought their shit was justified too. But I'm sure your reason is legit.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I could work my will the last monster to be destroyed was me. I would go happily knowing after I had Thanos snapped every conservative into the shadow realm the world was a safer place.

You know, I genuinely feel like the Operative from Serenity had a good outlook. Make the world you are not fit to live in. And then DON'T LIVE IN IT.

The US dropping two nuclear bombs on Japan was pretty cruel and monstrous.

However, doing so ended WW2 and likely saved thousands of lives.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not an uncontested version, sure. Hey look, again, whatever you need to justify, there's nothing i can say. You can't wake someone pretending to sleep.

I guess you’ve never heard of Frank Castle

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Ask Cap what he thinks about him some time

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I haven't heard what Cap thinks of Frank (though I suspect it's not particularly positive), but I do know that Frank himself tells people that he (Frank) is not a role model, and if they want one, they should look at Cap.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Frank sees Cap as a legend and put up no fight (also maybe agrees with Cap) https://ar.inspiredpencil.com/pictures-2023/captain-america-vs-punisher-civil-war

I would 100% be Pro extermination of the Nazis during WW2.

And I am today.

5 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

Well then you would have killed the majority of Germany, Austria and sizable chunks of Hungary and Ukraine. No way you'd be able to shoot them all, but good thing there were all those ovens left over right? Right? Yeah the difference between you and Nazis is who you want to "exterminate"

You and I aren't on the same side.

Whi said "all germans were nazis"? Or are you grasping at straws for your strawman? Nazis can get fucked and you can go right along with them.
