It’s good to know we can all transition to this once there’s no more snow!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This looks fun. I've snowboarded before but hate the cold. Do I need a special sandboard or a special wax? Sign me up.

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

It's been 100 years since Water War 1. The year is 2153. The venue: Scotland, just north of the uninhabitable zones.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I want to do this.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So is the hike back as much fun?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shout out to Art Beimler who had a dream about sandboarding in 1987 and came to school the next day and asked me to invent the sandboard. /

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in 7th grade so I didn't make it happen. So many patent royalties missed!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is this related to Alto's Odyssey?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I do not. I haven't seen the Sun in months and I still maintain it can fuck right off!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of Journey

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, is this how they're updating the game 'Journey?'

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where would one do this? I want to do this

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do a search for sand dunes near where you live. Any will do, but taller is better. Transportation & equipment can get pricey though.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Googles sand dunes near Boston ??

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

step 1: wealth

What do the sand worms think of this?

Fast food

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's perfect! The board transmits no rhythm to the sand!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Also on the PC now which is where I played it

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Journey Crew checking in. I kept glancing at her little cape to see if it would get any longer

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

how much is that? is it worth it?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Absolutely worth it. The game is an emotional experience if you do it multiplayer.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Like $10 used. Worth is up to you

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

When people ask things like, "is it worth it?", they're asking if YOU personally think it's worth it.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

hmm yeah for 10 guessing so

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely, one hundred percent worth it.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

not worth it, get in on steam! depending on region price on sale is below 7$

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You can also get it for the PC!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man, it must be so nice to be rich.. even mildly rich.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

How is this related to the video

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Specialized equipment, an outfit just for effect, a UTV for crawling the dunes, and this looks like the dunes at [...]

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Huacachina Oasis Resort in Peru, which is neither cheap to get to nor stay at. She also clearly does this a lot.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah? Well good for her. At least someone is happy.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Even just like... 3.5 rich would do for me.

Daddy's helicopter gets them back.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I think I see a UTV in the distance

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

From all that sand, it'll be a UTI from what I can gather

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yes, that's where the sand will gather.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Falling doesn’t sound appealing either.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I used to jump off a huge sand dune a slide all the way down, it was awsome

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd be interested to see the bottom of the board after one run. Sanded smooth!

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

They make specialized boards with harder bases specifically for sandboarding now: https://www.slipfacesandboards.com/

This is amazing *

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes I love snowboarding, and this sounds amazing to try as well.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

TIL they make boards specifically for sandboarding.

3 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Wonder if they make sandshoes for climbing back up through finely grained eye-dusting powder

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

These are surprisingly reasonably priced. I didn't expect that. If I lived anywhere near where I could use one, I would snatch one up

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can one just use an old snowboard too?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Put on a few coats of sand wax first if you want multiple runs

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Once or twice, yes. The results of pressing the board with your body weight into a belt-sander are exactly what you'd expect though.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You use was on the bottom of the board

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Wax!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I heard Something about wax makes some sand stick to the board because sand on sand flows well but board on sand doesn’t

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on the wax. Don't use surf wax. I used to use candle wax. This was 26 years ago. I still have my board ?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve only done it on body board or homemade wooden boards. All it took was a scribble or 2 of candle on the base and off you went.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's obviously harder on it than snow, but desert sand like that is all rounded smooth without much for rough edges.

While there's a reason SA and UAE import so much sand(For concrete) you're right this is best done with a tougher sandboard, not a snowboard

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yup

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It IS true. It's why you can't use desert sand in concrete. Look it up.

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

And I didn't say it wasn't hard on the board. But it's not sandpaper.
