That was a non-smoker cow, definitely

Now do a smoking cows lung for comparison

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

As a disgusting human I wanted you to overinflate them until they explode.

I was kinda hoping it'd pop like an overinflated tire.

Remember, this isn't technically science unless you wrote something down.

Can I have leftover cow for burgering?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That is weirdly satisfying.

Yes... "cow" lungs

What's happening when the pockmarks/dents in the lung repair themselves?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it's not repairing, it's inflating. Lungs are made up of millions of tiny air sacs.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

If you take a deep breath in it pops those sacs open; it's called recruitment. It's why we yawn; it increases the area of gas exchange.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

aaaaaaaand of course you made me yawn right now. dammit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did that in my fifth grade science class!

I'm just watching this. Minutes turned into hours into days into years... eons. There was an apocalypse. I sat here, watching these lungs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

last time I posted it, I stated I wanted to poke them. and still even now, I shouldn't want to poke what's inside of me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's with the little.... tenderloin? in the middle?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

if your talking about the middle flap on the bottom there, all I could find for a name was middle lobe. search disappointed me.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The lobes of the lung are one of a handful of times anatomists named something for what it really was.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

:( Could've been much more interesting. Pulmonary potato...inhalation station, respiratory dormitory...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

inhalation station.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you’re not going to inflate it until it explodes then you’re wasting my fucking time

8 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 5

Seriously....get an air compressor in there, the slo-mo guys to film it, and fill it half full with multicolored paint beforehand

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

You've given this a scary amount of thought.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gavin would begin gagging immediately at the sight of the lung inflating... do it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But why.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

For science!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

for "science"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a student of biology an we learned everything about lungs

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

And, i assume, people lungs are harder to come by

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, considering there isn't a massive industry for raising humans, killing them, and harvesting their meat, I'd say you're probably right.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Speaking of which, thanks for the great business idea!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, stop, don't

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Useful technique for locating a uterus in mammalian dissections

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do elaborate, since my memory seems to tell me the uterus and lungs are not the same thing, or even that close to each other.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, the uterus is pretty small relative to other organs and fatty, so it desiccates and disappears into the mesentery. But you can use 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 a Mabis bulb of sorts pushed through the vagina to inflate it. Particularly in rats they inflate like little Mickey Mouse ears.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oooh, I did not know at all about that, neat! Thanks for your reply. :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is the cow ok? Are you gonna give the lungs back?

8 years ago | Likes 1209 Dislikes 1

The cow is lung gone by now

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know how to tell you this but...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Santa Clause is not real. The cow is fine.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Insufflicient information. For the 2 of you who appreciate an insufflation pun.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They're just out for a cleaning

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Well to be honest... The cow is having a little trouble breathing.

I’ve had a long day and your comment made me giggle until my eyes watered. +1 <3

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's fine. Little known fact, cows can live for years without lungs. They simply absorb gases in the bloodstream through their stomach!

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Oh yeah. That cow’s going to be juuuust fine...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The cow was an organ donor she helped a lot of students

8 years ago | Likes 494 Dislikes 1

Hey, that's not a nice way to call your own mother!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And several restaurants

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Did the cow have a say in all of this?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You ever pop a set of cow lungs?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s crazy, I didn’t even know you could transplant cow organs into students!

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

As a teacher, I can assure you the brain transplant would often be an improvement.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Idk, this pawgnature on the forms looks forged...(-_-)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't hold my breath.

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

I thought a animal as big as a cow would have much bigger lungs.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh wait he said “lung” singular.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's plural, and if you look at the anatomy you can see the center divide between the two lungs. But there are no bananas so idk the scale

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did it make a "Pbbbbbbbbht" noise when it deflated?

8 years ago | Likes 432 Dislikes 0

I started laughing at your comment and my cappuccino came down my nose, thank you. +1.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It mooo'd

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

I love this comment like a lot.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lt's cow lung, not cow ass. Geebus, pay attention.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Thats gold right there son

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you get this with the trachea still attached and it's got the voicebox, it would moo.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No i didnt id was more like a "wooosh"

8 years ago | Likes 263 Dislikes 0

Still got the original video? YouTube, streamable and *shudder* reddit support sound.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it was a German cow shouldn't it have been a "vooosh"?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Could you retrofit it with a whoopee cushion noise maker?
