6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The uneducated masses of the US don't realize that our military, including the guard, are not trained or versed in civil law enforcement? My country is full of fucking retards.

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey, they're just following orders.... (:s because that's never not necessary these weird, weird days)

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Just need an i, before that mp

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is just a dress rehearsal for slapping down any descent. It's also the real purpose of ICE.🚨 The Republican Party is facing a major backlash! 🚨 Their handling of immigration and ICE has been a disaster. And let's not forget their economic policies, which have led to rising prices and stagnant job growth. 📉 The federal courts have been a bulwark against their attempts to undermine democracy. 🙌

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why waste an epic march song on those fuckers?!

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They should do this at an actual protest event. Get everyone involved. :) (also, as an ex-soldier I know what it's like to be harassed for things that are absolutely out of your control. Blame where blame lies.)

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Soldiers don't hand over their moral agency at the barracks gates. These guys absolutely have control over if they follow the orders to occupy their own country in a show of force for a forming dictatorship. Of course they shoulder part of the blame for being there.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not a great song since they will think it's cool. Rather, give them an actually marching song that was made for soldiers: https://youtu.be/vnfWSx4fVMM

Should play green acres theme with all the landscaping, or give them coupons for lowes and home depot.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For those saying they should just refuse their orders to deploy to cities, this legal eagle video explains it nicely.

No participating members of the National Guard should know peace so long as they are there.
Make their lives a living hell.

Those are some tight pants on the discount ranger there.

As a Staff Sergeant she should know that 1. Thats not now you wear a Patrol Cap. 2. thats not how you wear fatigue pants. and finally, 3. you don't shove a water bottle in your plate carrier.

Her First Sergeant or Sergeant Major needs to square her away.

MP = Military Police ?

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a military vet,,.. not fulfilling your contract comes with pretty severe consequences the least of which is an dishonorable discharge, if you go AWOL during a deployment, there could be serious legal actions

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

So at what point do we expect them to actually stand up for and defend the Constitution/people? Sure there are consequences, but why am I supposed to care about consequences to them over any other random American whose rights are being trampled?

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's you, and I respect your opinion. They don't want to risk their future careers, criminal records, etc.. by going AWOL from the military. They signed the contract and knew the consequences.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

This seems more like it was dubbed over, rather than played behind them, I'd've at least expected to hear some background noise, like the car that went past.

6 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

is def dubbed over, can even see her (one on the right) turn and speak to the person filming.

Honestly, at least in this instance they're showing the kind of restraint that police have been incapable of. They have the good grace to look miserable.

6 months ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 1

This is cuz these guys are dong their actual JOB. Not cosplaying cops or whatever the fuck ice guys do. I think that if shit went down, they would not be the first to throwdown and would show some respect(And would be obvious they understand they are facing the very citizens they are meant to protect and serve, unlike most cops)

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I trained for 9 months before I could even be attached to a unit. And TRADOC training is 24/7. There's a difference.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They are miserable. Same thing that happened in LA, they have low morale because they were sent there with no legitimate purpose. They're there as props for a wannabe strongman. They're away from their families on assignment that has a lot of them picking up trash on the street because they don't know what to do with all of them.

6 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

They are also working on 29- day deployments. Why 29 days? Because if their deployment is 30 days or longer, they get additional pay and benefits. Trump made sure they run consecutive 39-day deployments instead.

6 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That middle one wants to do something about it lol

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not enough. Bring Kids, explain to your kid loudly, “this is a traitor.“

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The military has mission-specific training for dealing with civilian populations, tighter rules of engagement, and punishments for dereliction of duty.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's because our solider are more trained the our police. Its their command structure that's fucked. A cop can violate an unlawful order and the worst thing that could happen is they'll get fired. If a solider violates an order, lawful or not, they'll get court marshalled. I don't blame soldiers. I blame the commanders that allowed Trump to do this.

6 months ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

Barbers are more trained than our police.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like she's saying 'please stop'. He at least she said please.

6 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The nationagaurd shouldn't be there but what are they supposed to do? It's these ICE mother fuckers that are the real issue

6 months ago | Likes 189 Dislikes 14

They could fucking quit

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Probably what the Germans said about the SS too

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Revolt. Overthrow the man breaking their country and freedoms. That's what the us military swears to do, protect the Constitution, not the president. Trump has broken the law of the land repeatedly, he should be killed for it.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

What they are supposed to do? Not following orders by an authoritarian government to occupy their own country, maybe?

I guess those guys are even being thanked for their service...

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You can't reason with ICE. They're secret "police" with varying uniforms, no badge numbers or names, and they won't even show their faces. But military? Most of them still have some semblance of accountability - we actually all know the oath they took, they're subject to court marshalls and international humanitarian laws, and they wear uniforms consistent with each other that have their names displayed. They can be shamed

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They can shoot ICE, that would be a start.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The national guard swore an oath to the constitution. they SHOULD be shamed. most of the "ice" clips you see are bounty hunters who didnt do anything but look for brown people to collect bounties.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

They're supposed to refuse illegal orders. They violated their oath by showing up. It sucks if they were pushed to make that choice, but they made that choice.

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Heard an interview today with a community activist and she was not a trumpet but said her neighborhood was safer. Counter interview activist said the dealers went underground and are doing more stealing. Multifaceted situation dependent upon what you experience.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I just followed orders"

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Get the fuck out.

6 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Of where?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

The City and the reserve. Or they can help the citizens against Ice. That would be an honorable cause.

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The Nation Guard is not the reserve

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it sucks for them but they are the representatives of the government who sent them. i think the imperial march is perfect to illustrate that, the grunts follow the orders but the real baddies are at the top.

6 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

This is true. I just think the hate at the lower levels need to be directed at federal ice agents who specifically signed up for this and any LEO that participates. They can quit. They should quit.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They could do do what the Marines did when they were sent to LA. Shit on the seats in the humvees and other vehicles the officers and snco's sat in as well as other things

6 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I'm all for that. I never heard of this happening.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Its on the lance corporal underground

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They can protest and refuse imoral orders.

6 months ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 8

Immoral orders aren't illegal. They didn't join the NG to do Trump's bidding. These are state troops. They join to support their state in emergencies and to receive benefits like college tuition. Soldiers aren't allowed to question or criticize the president. Ignoring objectionable orders will result in immediate imprisonment.

6 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

Soldiers aren't allowed to *while in uniform or as a public statement for their unit*.

A soldier may have whatever opinion he wishes to have, and out of uniform can express it in any legal manner.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't care what is and isn't illegal in a nazi state

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Everything Hitler did was legal. He saw to that.

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thats easy to say when it isn't your ass on the line.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well, they signed up for the job of defending the country. Don't take the job if you aren't willing to do it.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess they will be of very heavy heart and sorry, when they come to occupy your city and assist ICE and police in dragging innocent people out of their houses. They are the real victims here.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I don't want ICE or the NG in any city. The NG should only be deployed for emergencies by the state governor. Trump is playing with words in order to get around the laws. There's no emergency. It's all made up. Publicly he says they are supporting the law enforcement but in reality he's just using their presence as a deterrent from interference.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So why are they going along with it?

The clue is, they are deliberately using red state national guard in blue cities. Most of those guardsmen are brainwashed and pumped to be there and "help cleaning Democrat cesspools from their self afflicted crime."

They could not meaningfully act against a national guard that refused orders en masse. They can act against individuals, but even most hard dictatorships get very careful to treat soldiers that refuse by the company or battalion with soft >

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No they can't. Not without being courtmartialed and sent to prison for who knows how long.

6 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 17

So they made the choice that actively participating in the destruction of democracy and rule of law and going to militarily occupy the capital is a smaller price to pay than facing a courtmartial.

I mean, that's their choice. But they carry the responsibility for the consequences of their actions.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That can be the cost for standing up for what's right.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually they can be courtmartialed for following those immoral orders.

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The Posse Comitatus Act, passed in the US in 1878, prohibits federal military forces from acting as a domestic police force.

6 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That is very misleading. I am certain that you have no association with the military, friends, family, or even your own service.

They could get court martialed if they do something that would hinder the unit, like disabling the trucks. They could get a NJP for refusing the deployment. Yes, it could impact their future promotions, but so could enabling a fascist takeover.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh no! Guess there's no choice but to violate peoples rights. No one has ever gone to prison in protest. /s

6 months ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 13

Ah yes, the good old comment section hero who would definitely resist and fight instead of just going with the option that allows him to continue living in relative comfort.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Ah yes, good old comment section hero who doesn't want to see anyone fight back against anything.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

The national guard is hands off. They aren't arresting people. They aren't assaulting people on the street. People are focused on the wrong people. The ICE agents are the ones that need to be stopped.

6 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 8

You're absolutely correct but still, the National Guard shouldn't be deployed in this way. They're there to help in emergencies, and to protect civilians. Instead, they're being used as a show of force, to intimidate civilians into compliance. They aren't protecting civilians from being abducted off the streets by the American Gestapo that we know as ICE, they're there to intimidate.

6 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

The court has already held their deployment as illegal. The commanders can take them home

6 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Only the deployment to California, which for the most part has already finished

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Which court are you referring to?

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

well I really think it is impossible to fuck this up so bad. How about to go back and actually read what I posed instead of vomting horseshit all over the post?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Judge rules Trump’s use of US military in LA illegal " : https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5481178-judge-rules-trumps-use-of-us-military-in-la-was-illegal/

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah lots of lower court judges have done this. It doesnt mean anything to the trump administration. When it gets to the Supreme Court and trump ignores it let me know. I mean he'll still ignore it but no one is out there enforcing it.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

LA is different than DC. The federal goveenment has constitutional authority to control law enforcement in DC.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

"According to the U.S. Constitution and federal law, control of the National Guard is dual: state governors control their state's National Guard units for state-specific missions, while the President can federalize them for national missions, such as responding to invasion or insurrection..."

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They could quit the reserve. It's a paid job. They made choices.

6 months ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 18

Did 12 years in the guard, most of it active and overseas. We had one order that was illegal in the entire 12 years I was in. We brought the concern to our leadership, they kicked it up the pipe, order was revised and sent back down the pipe. Same order, new wording, made it legal. They could do this, easily. I'll also say this very slowly for you: Natl. Guard. Is. Dept. Of. The. Army. You. Cannot. Quit. They can, however, courtmarshal you. And then you receive the green weenie, sandpapered.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's not something you can "just quit". They've enlisted, same as active duty, so "quitting" comes with desertion and dishonorable discharge (best case is other than honorable). That blacklists you from most civilian employment even as a part timer, so no, they can't just quit. They can do exactly what they're doing: a lazy approach to following orders and being as non-threatening as they can. Cleaning up trash. Most (can't say all) don't want to be there and know it's wrong. Don't blame them

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah i dont think you can just quit. Pretty sure its a full commitment and quiting or refusing to work gets you prison time.

6 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

So, support a racist, bigoted, dictator, or go to jail. One of those is the morally correct decision.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 11

Oh fuck off, people like ypu are always the first to bend the knee in the real world when you can't hide behind a screen and pretend to be brave.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Not jail...prison. there is a difference. These people have families. They didn't sign up for this. ICE agents signed up for this. The nation gaurd is hands off. They aren't fucking with people. Sure they could go spend the rest of their lives in prison. Leaving g their family destitute. Again this isnt what they signed up for. I dont see you out there fighting and being thrown in prison for the morally correct thing.

6 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Not my fucking country, you idiots voted for this.

6 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 11

Tell me you have never signed a US Army National Guard contract without telling me you have never signed a National Guard contract... it is irrevocable and you get to join for 8 years.

6 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

Tell me you have never heard that a contract can be changed or broken.

I am fully aware of what it means to sign that contract.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Tell me, how does one break a US Army contract? Cuz I spent 10 years in and saw a LOT of people try to quit... from Active Duty, from various state's National Guards and the USAR...

Unless you are going for a Big Chicken Dinner or Disability, you are not going anywhere.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The National Guard and the Reserve are different services. Both have terms of service form which you can not just quit.

6 months ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 6

You can just quit if you think the orders you have been given are an absolute farce and that it is worth the consequences to be against what ever the fuck is going on in the USA.

6 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 9

That's really not how the military works. Guard troops have lives outside the military and refusing orders would destroy their life.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Ok, well let's not make their lives hard by standing up for what is morally right.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's desertion, even for reserve/guard. That could include prison time. You are obligated to disobey illegal orders. Not quit.

6 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 6

Good news(not really but...), most of the orders coming out of the White House and all associated, have been illegal.

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

So say that you have become gay over the weekend. You'll be out in a day.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For all the apologetic bootlickers saying the NG can't refuse a "legal" order -- they CAN and should be conscientious objectors.

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Conscientious objector in an all volunteer military force? How does that work? Does it work? Honest question, I have no idea

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They could quit. And should.
If Burger King asked you to throw coffee in the faces of Black people, I think a lot of people would quit. Or if Staples asked you to follow all the Latinos around the store to make sure they weren't stealing, you might quit.

Invading a city to be an intimidating force for what we know is all about the non-white people....

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They can’t “just quit”. This isn’t a fast food job.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, it's not fast food. It's less.
It's a one-fucking-weekend a month job so they can play a part in a military white supremacist machine.
