My Mum loved to take my brother and myself there on weekends for strolls and ice cream and as a child I used find it super boring … obviously it grew on me, especially living overseas for a decade, coming back to historical places like this very street filled my heart with childhood memories and warmth.
My family left Germany when I was 5, moved to Canada. I hated the weather and how ugly the cities were. Terribly homesick I begged to go back and live with my Omi. No such luck.
