Update, they USED TO sell these. There are no companies currently manufacturing then en masse for market users.

I always wondered why those rounds are so rounded on the end

I chuckled out loud. +1

Target audience found! To the front page!

...again. Everytime I see this reposted I think that if you're going to mod it, then put on a muzzle brake or other shock absorbers

I still want one.

8 years ago | Likes 200 Dislikes 9

I want several

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Chambered for 2 dollar bills.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Only time I ever got scope bite was from one of those. Didn't even notice until I felt blood dripping off my nose.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ruger M77 is my favourite chambered in .458 win mag

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice dick, bro!..

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Anti-ThatGeneralDirection gun

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They stopped manufacturing these after the founder died, and now they'll run you $1500 or more.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That isn't as bad as I thought. My M9A3 was just north of 1k.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Could someone translate ?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

.458 WinMag is commonly used for dangerous game, up to and including elephant. High-powered cartridge = high recoil = ow my shoulder

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Ahhh...I see. Does it need to be adapted for the Garand?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Those bullets look tasty.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i will take two and one of the BARs converted to .338 Lap Mag

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

for when you gotta hit that guy behind a concrete wall 2 miles out

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That would hurt like a sonuvabitch, going OR coming.....

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sadly the company that made those don't anymore....so they're rare to see for sale

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

"Today on Forgotten Weapons..."

$5 per round

Here's the kind of damage it does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEXblhkBLV4

"These guns will physically harm you if you don't hold them correctly." Lol...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hmmm....that's true for all guns if you think about it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It used a sloshing tube of mercury in the stock to dampen recoil.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

That sounds.... Interesting.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You mean, ineffective.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe for a sharp impact it would be ineffective. But they used to use Mercury for plumbs because of the natural damping.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

For when you want to kill the buffalo behind the buffalo you also want to kill.

v

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

That was the funniest thing i have seen in a long time hehe

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wonder how much slower the bullet goes because of the momentum lost to the gun.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a gun owner this is painful to watch.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Seriously, I'd never hand someone inexperienced anything larger than a 10mm or 45 until I can verify their capabilities.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

And even then I'd prefer to start someone on a .22 revolver to get technique down first.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

A shotgun is fine, just have one with a stock

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Man, what the hell kind of Vibranium op-rod does that thing have?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Asking the real questions. My bet would be that the op rod is factory, but they either had a tiny gas port in the barrel or limiting valve

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I bought an adjustable gas plug for my 1942 SA so I could shoot modern factory loads, but even with something like that.. crazy pressures

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here it is being fired: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKXCu5oXgFY

Better footage of the weapon in action (skip to minute 6): https://youtu.be/q9Msztahe4Q?t=6m

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Doesn’t seem so bad by the video but what do I know.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

His reaction tho 10/10

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

now this is a sauce worth of a dot! .

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can't watch right now so dot

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

7200 J of power. That about 4 5.56mm.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

the fact that he's called Tony Shoulder makes it even better.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

"WOO HOOO, WOO!" That's the sound of a freedom boner. That and BRRRRRRRRTTTTTTT

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

That definitely looks like it's hard on the old shoulders.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn't look to bad. The semi-automatic action would help a lot with recoil.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also, fuck your wallet. Like, a lot.

8 years ago | Likes 994 Dislikes 2

Leather is not my type, unfortunately.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

Classic.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First time at a music festival I see

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Why do you need to pay? You're buying ammunition after all.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That is not advised, buddy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because at the kind of shop that sells that ammunition, the guy selling you the ammunition also has his own ammunition

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

To shoot? I mean, you only need one round, how expensive can it be?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

About five dollars a round

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

$5 to end any confrontation, seems cheap

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Just don't miss ;)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh, miss and you still hit with this.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gotta practice to be able to effectively end a confrontation... Assuming luck isn't on your side

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

$5 a cartridge is easily $100 for half an hour at the range, and that's taking your time and being conservative.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm British, is it the Garand or the ammo that will fuck your wallet the most?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

both.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ammo. Rifle is a few grand. Cartridges add up fast though and they're expensive.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Out of interest, and it's something I've I've always wondered, how much is a box of ammo? 9mm, 5.56, .458 Win etc.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

For that gun, it's about $5-8 a round.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the brand and type, here's a link if you feel like browsing https://ammo.com

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah it depends... ranges from stupidly expensive to hilariously expensive.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

50 rounds of 9mm basic target/training $15, 20 rounds of similar quality 5.56 $8, 20 rounds of hunting quality .458 win mag is about $80.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Usd of course.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.458 win mag makes my .460 mag look cheap... and that gun already makes cash register sounds.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not really. $1500-2000. Pretty middling. About the same as for an M1A or most FAL and G3 models.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

Pretty sure he's talking ammo cost, not the rifle. Cartridges are stupid expensive.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I like the G3. Here we called it M75 and I used it in the army. Was replaced with some version of AR15 I think. G3 is loud and kicks a bit >

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So you really feel that you're shooting. 7.62 ammo ways a ton tho opposed to 5.56...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Denmark, right? Yeah y'all are using the Canadian M16/M4 type rifles now. G3 isn't a bad gun at all imho, but magazines are expensive

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As hell in the US. The good steel ones I mean.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Never had any issues with the aluminum ones. Bought 200 when they were 99 cents each at CTD.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Back when they were in production anyway. Pretty hard to find now.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I think he might be saying that they are current production. if so idk if id call it an m1 garand but its still cool either way

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The McCan .458's? Naw, they stopped production a few years ago. They're unicorns now. Definitely cool though, but really just a gimmick.

How much we talking about?

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

At least 10 grand, probably more since they are no longer in production

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

Do you mean 10 garand?
