All the pieces cut, with yellow thread for comparison. Sent this to the customer for approval.

Been working on getting my skiving work cleaner and thinner.

Holes marked and ready to stitch.

Stitching the first wing panel.

White (well...orangish) hot fileteuse ready to do some edgin.

23k gold logo stamp.

Final stitching with liquid courage.

Mid-stitch.

Finished side one.

Letting the edges dry.

Finished edge. Also got these edges down to 3mm thick. Much better than the last one at 4mm.

I LIKE WHAT YOU GOT. GOOD JOB!

This reminds me of the High Sparrow's spiel in GoT about "wearing people's time". This is great work, @OP.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just quoted you to my wife and she lol'd. Well commented sir. Love a good GoT reference.

I made a sandwich that had to much mustard today

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@op where would be a good place to look for a set of tools to do this. Your work is inspiring.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I started in the Leathercraft Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Leathercraft/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Awesome. Thank you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How much for you to shut up and take my money?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that glue in the seam?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do glue everything prior to stitching, but all the edges are trimmed, waxed, polished, and finished so it really just adds stability.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What kind of glue do you use?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's an adhesive from a Japanese company called Seiwa. I like it cuz it dries clear.

+1 for whiskey

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+1 for +1 about whiskey. +1 *sips*

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a trained saddler, I approve of the craftsmanship!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks! That's high praise.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The hand stitching is solid! (I worked in a luxury leather goods workshop for a few months too) I see a lot on here I find subpar. Not this!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where can I learn to do this stuff?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So what is the stuff you put on the sides. I ask since I have a leather wallet and that part is coming off. Oh beeswax and paraffin?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a wax called Vernis combined with beeswax and paraffin yeah. Then it's heated and it melts into the fibers.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is a sexy wallet

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Id buy that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Has a late 80's early 90's vibe to it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Beautiful leatherwork, OP!

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How did you treat the edges?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it possible to PM on mobile? Because I don't know how to do it and I would really like to know the price. Can I get my own initials on it?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure. If you want to email me it's info@rareandsundry.com. Happy to chat price and you can totally get your initials on it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly no there is no pm on mobile

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How can I purchase one

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Best way is to send me a PM. Everything's made-to-order right now. Or email me at info@rareandsundry.com

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's Beautiful OP. Nice job!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey, just like that other one but yellow instead of red.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah kinda. The red one had an ID pocket inside as well. This is my favorite design so I get to do it a lot.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is amazing! Great job!

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've had http://www.specopsbrand.com/t-h-e-wallet.html for over 6 years now and it's still almost as good as the day I got it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really neat design. Basically a trifold that can hold more shit.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Self taught? YouTube? 10 years of apprenticeship? How does one learn?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Self-taught through YouTube and piles of failed experiments. Also the Leathercraft sub-Reddit.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Reddit scares me. That's why I come here! Actually I'm lazy and their layout/gui makes me want to strangle kittens. Good work though sir!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol, thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm trying to find a hobby. What's the start up cost if you don't mind?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not an easy question, depending on what you want to make. Couple hundred for basic tools and materials?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That about answers it. Rough figure on basic starting stuffs. Thanks for the replies!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No worries! There's a lot of ways to go. If you're serious find a maker that you like and just buy the tools he uses.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But is it RFID? I was told I RFID.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want one of these so fucking much.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought the same thing! That's why I started making 'em. Send me a PM and we can chat.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where can I buy one?! *Grabs wallet* ...Oh wait...

9 years ago | Likes 177 Dislikes 0

Lol. Everything I do right now is made-to-order but drop me a PM and we can chat if you want.

9 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do you PM? Sorry. I'm new. Kinda.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you're on mobile, you can't.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh. Well. Ya. Damn.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you do trifolds, specifically if u sent you a pictor could you mirror it. My favorite wallet blew out, and finding a new one isimpossible

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree with the other comment, how much was this one and will you ship to Australia?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Send me a PM and we can chat price and design. I've shipped to Australia before (think it was like $30 US).

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I assume you mean just shipping, but I'll buy one right fucking now if it's 30 total.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol, yeah the shipping was 30 bucks if I remember correctly.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1 million dollars

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

You should have posted this about a month ago. Father's day coming up and all. Very cool stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I usually have to tell everyone at work to get their Christmas orders in to me in September.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been trying to find a great wallet for my husband. I'd love to see some more of your work!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure! PM me or send me a mail. info@rareandsundry.com

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well how much was this one?

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Does not look cheap. But it does look nice!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A hand-made wallet like this is at least a hundred bucks, easily.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I spent 45$ on a leather wallet, like a year ago. Still smells like leather. Best wallet I've ever had.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's what happens when you never have any money in it...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing over $300. True handcrafted leather work like this isn't cheap.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

He doesn't wanna say lol. Expensive as fuck.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Well the truth is I post here because I want to share. The business side, to me, is a private conversation.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I never understood the "I don't want to say a price" thing, don't waste my time, give me a range so I know if it's worth it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I'm happy to chat price. I just prefer to do it in private.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

so I can see if I can even think of affording it*
