Like, how the fuck do people even do this?

This is insane talent

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay, he can emulate photography perfectly, only taking a few hundred times longer to make a picture. Now what?

13 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 6

Human photocopier

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

While I love the talent, I don't understand the appeal of making art that is so much like a photograph that you can't tell the difference.

13 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

This guy projects the image (or grids it) on to the page.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

hold my beer ✎(°/°)

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The best part is - he's entirely self-taught!

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

@pyrobob4: actually he is not an artist, it's this pencil that's amazing

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just to clarify, it's Diego Fazio*.

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He draws better than my camera takes a photo

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess it's a nice pencil and all. But how did you not notice the amazing drawings OP?

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look at the shading on those upper lips! Must have taken at least three hours.

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and i can breath... *choke*

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I find hyperrealism to be a bit boring. It's impressive, but not exciting

13 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

This guy makes me realize...my art is trash and even my photos arent that good!

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or you could just, ya know, take a photo >_> this is like the same thing the hard way. Incredible, sure, but duplicative.

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

These are pretty horrible drawings of pencils. Not impressed

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

His last name means joint in spanish

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could do this with a camera and gray-scale filter.

13 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I need that pencil.

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Man if I had this talent, I'd draw so many boobies

13 years ago | Likes 135 Dislikes 3

How has this not got more upvotes, this comment made me laugh way too hard!

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And butts. Don't forget about butts.

13 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

This may be why you weren't given this talent haha!

13 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

My god its so fucking good

13 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

my exact words

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Prove it to me and I still won't believe it.

13 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Watching this kind of stuff makes me want to downvote your post cause I suck at drawing stuff myself. Damnit.

13 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

I have no talent :(

13 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

makes me feel the same

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Talent is usually a guiding light in terms of things like this. You still don't get anywhere if you don't practice like a boss all the time

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We -all- have talents, I think. I also think we rarely discover what they are while we are still young enough to use them. :|

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I love to bake bread.....I want to take some classes to learn more.

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I shall await news of your successful future bakery, friend.

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

/a/frto1#0 this is my baking album. It doesnt have my newest chocolate meringue cookies though.

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh my god. You actually bake. I... I'm speechless. And I want some of that bread.

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I find it odd the way he draws. He must literally see the image on the page bc he's drawing without a structure to guide him.

13 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 1

The method for this is to make very light sketch guidelines first, and fill in detail horizontally. It's so you don't smudge/

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sorry to burst your bubble but you can see the light sketches around the nose/mouth in the first image. Artist probably uses a (1/2)

13 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

As an artist, unless you've had at least a little over a decade experience, you'll more than likely always lay down a guide-sketch first. <3

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I still find it odd how he draws almost like a printer.

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

projector to lay down guidelines from an existing photo. Still extremely impressive and talented.

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Thats a drawing, not a pencil.

13 years ago | Likes 354 Dislikes 8

Lol I think he meant to say Pencil art or something

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

word i was confused

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MY DAD'S NOT A PHONE

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

For being the first person to post this gif on one of my comments,

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, no, you're missing the point of the post; we're supposed to be focusing on the pencil.

13 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Well, damn, now that you mention it, that is a pretty bitchin pencil he has.

13 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I have the same set! Derwent Graphic pencils, made in England.

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

why not both, a pencil drawing

13 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

obligatory: Why not Zoidberg?

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who finds it funny anymore ? That same comment has been on every picture on the internet in the past couple of years ...

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's been on EVERY SINGLE PICTURE ON THE INTERNET? That, my friend, seems like an exaggeration.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And you know it is .. yet, I have seen it thousands of times myself.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I refuse to believe these are not photographs

13 years ago | Likes 1820 Dislikes 4

I second that.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

damnit this exact thought popped in my head and i was so excited to comment this. i could've been famous...

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha this is my first top comment on imgur ever. Next time it will be you, Im sure (:

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think that every time I see them. It's just so good. I know talented people exist, but this... THIS, is insane.

13 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

I can do this, but to be honest it requires a bit of craziness. And I prefer to do an interpretation instead of a (yes, great) copy.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I agree one hundred percent

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's cheating somehow. Clearly on steroids.

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

you know, i thought the exact same thing JUST before i read your comment.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great minds think alike (:

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Believe it or not, talent exists. Look at the necklace in the 2nd completed picture. Or around the old man's lips. Obviously drawn.

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Yes true, but the guy does it so well its hard to distinguish the difference. For all i known this guy drew part, but i'll believe its real.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am not refusing talent. He obviously has tons of it. It is just my mind refuses to think those are drawings.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These _are_ photographs. Of drawings.

13 years ago | Likes 140 Dislikes 0

We have to go deeper.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thats what she said

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I see what you did there

13 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

"Ceci n'est pas une pipe" ;)

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I refuse to believe these are photographs of drawings. They are photographs of real people. HUZZAH!

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

my favorite expletive. Huzzah!

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah ah ah, they are photographs... of drawings... of (possibly) real people.

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Arguably real though, even if they exist only on the canvas or in the artist's mind.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I FUCKING GIVE UP OK?! I GET IT IMGUR IM A PIECE OF SHIT! IM SO DONE WITH THIS

13 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 4

He might not be able to build a house, or teach a dog to sit, or even how to tie his shoes, or do basic math. No one is good at everything.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it memorial day weekend, go eat some spare ribs, you'll feel better!

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Easy there, just take it easy, everything is gonna be alright.

13 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey, you can't be excellent at everything. This guy is good at pencil drawing, but he probably suck at riding a bike.

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0
