God damn i hate the look of heeled mens shoes. With a suit? Fine i guess, but ppl say wear casually is just bs. No heeled shoe is casual imo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah... I don't own any of these. I have work shoes, work boots and flops.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"What kind of shoes are you wearing?" "uh, brown ones"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Topsiders aren't good for bad weather? Isn't their original intent to be used in nautical settings where water would be around?

I have a pair of black Bluchers that I wear a lot. They're similar to Derbys but the vamp is in one piece.

So, wait, NO socks and sandals?

"Retro style" are called saddle shoes (type of Oxford) n case you need to Google it but "retro style shoes" brings up irrelevant results.

As a guy with 6E width feet, I have to stick to shitty sneakers

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Check out some American brands, Allan Edmonds for example. I find them to be more spacious than English shoes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have 'shoes'

MonkSTRAPS. I have never just heard them called Monks. One of my favorite pairs of shoes is a pair of Cole Haan Monkstraps.

As a horse rider I will never take anyone that wears Chelsea boots outside of a stable seriously. Such a strange new trend. :)

Canvas shoes for sports? Good luck with that

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I shall favorite and like this, but most likely never look at this again

I'll stick to my purple suit with yellow spots, worn with red rubber boots. Come back when you know fashion.

Crazy to think in a couple of years converse will be 100 years old

Loafers: Socks? Yes or no?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They can be worn with or without, depends on the wearer's taste. But mostly loafers are more for a sock-less look

If I can wear brogues and ankle boots with jeans, I can wear oxfords. They all look fucking close enough.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That "oxford" is a brogue as well...

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Yup, first thing I noticed too.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I prefer "has broguing" over "is a brogue", but to each their own.

Will you just dress me in the morning?

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

I thought it was more of undress me at night

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Thats what youre for.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pro-tip: you can break all these rules if you're good looking because suddenly bad dress sense becomes a "style".

And here I am wandering around in military surplus boots all the time. Fashionistas must be appalled.

My work requires semi-formal dress code and I walk a lot, fancy shoes died in 6m at most. Ordered police patrol shoes now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oxfords, not brogues.

As soon as i saw the post, i hopes this would be the top comment

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Goddamnit ya beat me too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I aim for simple brogues because they break up the shoe so it doesn't look like I'm wearing clown shoes.

Have a lovely afternoon has been majorly added to my vocabulary since that film

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

first movie i've watched twice in a day and enjoyed every minute.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fucking beat me to it.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Probably because of slow internet!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Those oxfords at the top are definitely brogues; they have detail work on them

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

1)Oxfords can have detail, they're called Oxford Brogues. They can still be referred to as Oxfords, although Oxfords are generally plain.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2) The make of shoe has to do with the way the laces are hidden I believe and not the lack of detail

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uh, what are cigarette pants?

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

They're slim tapered pants. They're two cylinders for your legs, like a pair of cigarettes

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Google doesn't result in many sources for men's cigarette pants, but they are kind of like formal, slightly longer capris.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They also appear to be for women...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mostly, seems like they're hard to pull off if you're a guy...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unless you're Italian.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And oh finally, there are no rules in fashion. Wear what you want that makes you happy.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Unless I think it looks wrong. Always consult me, a complete stranger, before wearing anything. Because I am best. Probably. Maybe.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Suit jacket, stethoscope, capris, work boots. Done.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There are no absolute rules, only rules relative to your objective. For example, don't wear tennis shoes with a suit if you want to be [1]

taken seriously.[2]

Or you're The Doctor.
