Probably wrong meme, but I doubt you want to hear me bitching anyway.

P.S. I hate being asked this question as if somehow age has anything to do with the amount of stress in a person’s life.

How do you stress that much? Half my life was complete shit and I still took it a day at a time.

Exercise.

Take a dump at the office after eating chilly and don’t flush, so people enjoy your smell. (Go back and do it later for the janitor tho)

This is why I drink

welcome to adulthood. yes, age has a lot to do with it. the more you go through, the less stressed you get over little things

Are you exercising regularly?

Stress doesn't cause ulcers

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been there. Avoid ibuprofen and get a probiotic. Helps. Marginally.

You don't *have* to. You're choosing to. There may not be better options, but it is a choice.

Well, the medical community says two types of bacteria (treatable) and NSAIDs (anti-inflammatory drugs) cause ulcers - not stress.

I got an ulcer too and was surprised bc I'm not old. NSAIDS are a huge contributer to ulcers (stress makes worse).

Thankfully OTC meds helped. But be careful w the ibprofin (take w food) and check out breathing exercises to help w stress

I've been there too. You're so close. And remember that to most "the grass is greener" and you don't owe them an explanation.

OMFG Yes stress can cause ulcers. Stress can nerf your autoimmune response as well as increase stomach acid production eroding (1/2)

Protective mucus barriers, as well as making the stomach lining less hostile for bacteria. It’s a result of symptoms, not A symptom. (2/2)

Just keep pushing, you'll make the effort worthwhile if you push to the end; life is difficult, but giving up is never an option

Never give up. Never surrender.

I know I will quite well. My body doesn’t seem to agree though. It’s almost like driving an old car that keeps breaking down. It’s annoying.

Preaching to the choir, it's why every moment I'm not at work I have my wireless headphones on; music keeps me going, find your drive

The amount of stress isn't age dependent but the way you cope and manage it is, mostly due to experience.

The odd thing is, mentally, I am able to handle stress rather well. It’s physical effects however... it’s frustrating.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The physical comes from the mental.

Suck it up. It only gets harder.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 10

What gets harder, having only a full time job as opposed to having a full time job and going to college to get a degree at the same time?

I can't wait until all the shit you can't imagine hits you and you remember this comment. In the meantime, enjoy it while you can.

I worked avg 53 hrs per week while going to full time college with a newborn and stay at home wife. Suck it up.

Stress doesn't cause ulcers. Bad diet, medications, alcohol, bacteria, and stomach acid do, but not stress

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Stress can also account for higher production rates of stomach acid, causing acid reflux as well as ulcers.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Stress can cause autoimmune dysfunctions, making it less hostile for bacteria to proliferate in the lining of the stomach wall.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Marshall vast majority of ulcers caused by helicobacter (90%), not sure of impact of stress though

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Relevant link, this aussie ingested helicobacter colony then treated himself with antibiotics, in order to prove the cause of ulcers

Bad diet, medications, alcohol and with alcohol as proxy stomach acid can all be things brought into your life because of stress

If someone's depressed and OD's on heroin, it's still the heroin that caused the OD, not the depression.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

if a dude decides to kill himself with heroin its the depression that is the reason for his death. heroin is just the how it happend

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

People can OD on heroin without depression. The depression would be a contributing factor, but ultimately not the cause of death.
