Meet Lilly

A week ago my husband and I decided to add a third cat to our motley crew. After roaming around a couple shelters we eventually this little gray angel.

She quickly became a member of our family (though our kittens didnt seem too fond of her at first). A few days after she came home she began developing respiratory issues. Sneezing and trouble breathing. I didnt think much of it, cats can get what is essentially the flu of they become too stressed and Lilly had been recently spayed.

But coupled with the fact she wasnt eating much (and already underweight) we took her back to the vet yesterday.

One blood test later and we learned our little girl was extremely anemic with a mass of white blood cells.

The conclusion, that while she didnt have feline leukemia, she most likely had feline infectious anemia.

We had to choose between returning her to the shelter we got her from (where they would most likely euthanize a very sick cat), euthanizing her ourselves or paying for a potentially expensive treatment that may not even guarantee her survival.

$200 later we have two weeks of pill-shoving antibiotics and syringe feeding food to her to try and make her healthy again.

We don't want any money but I'd really love for some good vibes, thoughts or prayers for our new kitty.

I didn't mean to make caturday depressing, so a couple pictures of our (not sick) sister torties.

She is a beauty. If she gets enough love and attention, she will survive and repay you a hundred fold in love and loyalty. Much luck....
