I have psoriasis. And I look like I’m snowing on the floor every time I scratch. I don’t even notice I’m doing it sometimes.

Yuck, yeah no. I regularly see people with animal hair on their coats, it's not pretty.

Wait ... what my what, you can brush them, like dogs?

Cats actually sheds fur all year but extra much in spring and fall.

besides the brush if the owner would change the diet to a high carnivore one that would go down 80%. Then again spring is coming up soon so

I came here to say this. My boys are at that threshold and we only deal with seasonal shedding.

My cats bring me their brush when they want attention and a little help with the fur.

One of mine will come running when she hears the dogs getting brushed bc she wants a turn AND she wants their big brush.

If I start to brush one of mine, he will gently grab my hand in his teeth and firmly move it away from him.

Those vacuum powered brushes work amazing if your cat will put up with it

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have scars to show just how accepting my cats are of vacuums.

The furball is an infinite source of fuzz. brushing is a futile action. embrace the fuzz.

I'm joking but only halfway. I have a rabbit, we go through her shedding period with infinite brushing. she absolutely hates it but we gotta or her guts can stop from the sheer amount (they don't make hairballs to cough up so it just accumulates inside their digestive track). And it never. fricking. stops!
Still yeah, brushing is important to avoid matting nonetheless of the fur's length.

People need to remind themselves that even indoor cats, even European shorthair, have shedding seasons. You need to brush them in early spring, and regularly, if you dont want your place to lethal to allergics.

Yeeh, plus the chin, armpits and underbelly can still become matted, because they brush against dirt or lay in it (eat soft food that gets stuck on the chin). They can clean their tummy, sure, but the chin and armpits are not as easy to clean or reach behind.

That would be the exception, not the norm.
