I still don't understand Starbucks sizes, I just use small medium large, it's easier

I've been to starbucks a couple times, if you're not a dick about it ordering a "large black coffee, please" nets you a venti drip

Damn getting shot sign me up

Yes. Have some respect.

Starbucks: We're sorry to hear about that! If you'd just DM us the location of the store that you visited we'll be sure to correct this 4u!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No matter where I go I just say ounces. It’s easier. I want a 20 Oz coffee. No one ever gets mad that I don’t know their size names

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grande is a medium.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Makes sense. "Large" I could understand his viewpoint, but ordering the "Big" at any restaurant is a sign of aggression.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've never entered a Starbucks, maybe I will one day but I don't find it appealing.

Upvoted for the title

I honestly wasn't sure if anyone would like it, so thank you

Grande whoop. At least the coffee was good.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They call that ventilation.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grande is not even big!!!

Just ask for a super large

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dread picking up Starbucks for my wife, I'm a tea drinker and none of it makes any sense to me even when it is not in Italian.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Happened to me, 'I'll have a medium', 'Oh, we only have Large, Extra Large and King sized!', 'Then give me the medium one...'

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is funny.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They do it so you can speak another language when you order off their menu.

Grande is also Italian.

They shot me in the Tunak

"You want sympathy?!? You get naan!"

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

as an italian i think it's stupid to say "grande" or "venti" as usit of measure

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That’s great, but it’s descriptive. Grande was their original “large” size. Venti is a 20 ounce cup. Trenta is 30 ounces.

More than a single shot of coffee is soup

I get around the stupid starbucks lingo by not going to starbucks.

Underappreciated. I have but one upvote to give.

Now you have another

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

order grande americano, when asked for your name, big coffee

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don’t all the sizes in Starbucks translate as big

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I work there. The only ones that don't are the kids size (short) and ironically the biggest one (trenta)

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Short, tall, and grande were the original sizes. Venti means 20, for a 20oz cup. Trenta means 30 for a 30oz cup. Super complicated, I know.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Venti translates to 20.

he should be so lucky it was only the leg

4 years ago | Likes 281 Dislikes 0

Dude should get shot for saying “Big”, it’s small, medium or large… uncultured swine

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's okay, I have two more

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I knew there would be at least one comment to surpass the satire above !

They missed, but went with it

His third leg

My cousin wasn't. It's fine though, he was an asshole.

Giving him decaf would have been almost as sinister /s

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still don't understand Starbucks sizes, I just use small medium large, it's easier

4 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Vente, grande and something. Ough….I’m not cultured enough

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's loosely based on the Italian language — Tall, meaning a "taller" cup of espresso, Grande being "large", Venti = 20, Trenta = 30.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ironic considering its the first job you get after you major in English

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

one coffee 3 cups no problem, here you go

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Many try to correct me when I do that but I say I don't care. Normally I would be nicer but it's early and I just want coffee.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We don't really have Starbucks in Australia, i think there are a couple in the east, but is this really a big deal?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don’t really drink coffee much so I’m probably a bit removed from the situation, but I think it’s just one of those things that bothers >

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

some people. Starbucks uses strange size names (though it does have a logic behind it) and some people think it’s stupid or gives them >

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

social anxiety or any myriad of reasons people dislike things.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No they don't care if you don't use their size names to order. The ones they use are dumb though.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

First they had short and tall and that was it. Then do do customer feedback they added grande as an extra large. Then after more feedback

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure the extra sizes came due to a smart marketing trick where you severely overprice small drinks to encourage spending more.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You can still order shorts in-store and from a value perspective they're the best deal.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By sizing up. Their largest size is usually the one they calculate with, the rest are all prized up

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They added venti (20 oz). After venti they noticed no one ordered short anymore so they removed it from the menu.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I think you can still get the Short despite not being advertised (at least since the last time I was there).

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's the same kind of legacy naming that leads to things like driving on parkways and parking on driveways.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I said grande at a local coffee shop and he looked at me said we are not starbucks. So I said Large real slow back. He was not amused.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then he spit in your drink. Probably ... most likely. Definitely.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nah the girl at the end made my drink. I watched cause I thought the same thing. Lol

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh then you got the bottled spit. Yeah, they'll all spit in it at random times then add it to the drink of someone they aren't happy with.
