People do that?

Same with opening my umbrella.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they're squealing like a pig, they're too fast.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I have never heard of anyone doing this to be honest.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More give a shit about windshield wiper speeds than I thought could.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Huh. I guess I can't un-see this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My wiper speed auto adjusts to how fast I'm going.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't turn them on until is pouring buckets

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I crank mine up. "No, this shit IS serious."

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I judge other people of they are on high and it's sprinkling I always think they are overreacting.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My newest car has a delay mode way slower than any other I have had. It is amazing, especially with rainx.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I definitely do this. And I judge others by how much rain and how fast their wipers are going.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't care. If it rains I'm letting those bad boys go free and crazy.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Was just thinking about this very real problem this morning!! Glad I'm not alone!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I didn't realize I did this. Just yelped.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great... I never thought of this until now. Now I will be. Thanks internet, making me worry bout shit....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to feel this way but then I realized that I sing and dance in my car for everyone to see. That doesn't embarrass me so w/e wipers!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't happen to do that but I completely understand

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, I thought I was the only one. Now I don't feel so alone.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did this today. Looked around to see if mine were going too fast. This post made me feel better about being a weirdo.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought I was the only one! Glad to know I'm not as neurotic as I thought.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If my wipers are on in Ireland, you know its bad.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm the person with them on full blast looking for people like you to mimic me.

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 2

I was the first to pull over on the highway during a downpour. Felt like a baby but 4 other cars followed suit :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MRW "Light drizzle and wipers on high?"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

... I like you..

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Me too!!! I'm great

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

God bless you.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I judge people who have their wipers on too fast.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can confirm

9 years ago | Likes 220 Dislikes 3

Letterkenny?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Your username, i am that

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

nah with me its either "are they working?" or "do these things go faster?". btw i live in FL so either light shower or torrential downpour

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That ends in 1 foot

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or bugs. I remember needing windshield wipers in FL with a clear sunshine because bugs. Eww.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just use Rain-X. Barely have to use the wipers anymore.

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

This shit here lol. If you gotta use wipers with rainx already on your window you shouldn't be driving during a hurricane

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love how Rain-X beads the water, but man it destroys wiper blades and the rubber around the windshield.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When I drive on the freeway in the rain, I sometimes try to spot my rain-x brothers. There's too few of us.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But you only get that warpspeed effect ~25mph+ of driving.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I like that effect but even when you're not going fast since it beads the water slides down.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sounds like we need to go 60 EVERYWHERE.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't like to turn my headlights on if there's a car coming in the opposite direction

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I'm like that! Don't want them thinking im@flashing them. Same as when a car is too close in front lol

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Haha, that's my reason as well.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

LMAO nice! My reasoning is a little different, I don't want them to think their choice to use headlights somehow influenced me.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Where I live having headlights on during rain is required by law, so that isn't an issue.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just wait until you have a car with "auto sensing" wipers. They go batshit crazy during a drizzle.

Humblebrag

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine go mad if my window is slightly steamy. Which is awkward if I've just boiled the kettle.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn British and their tea.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tea is the most important meal of the day. Also the most important drink, it fixes everything.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn! I was hoping that those would be 'the cure' for windshield wiper dramatics. Damn. Seriously. Damn.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine are actually awesome and don't do this at all, so there's hope yet!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you.. it was looking bleak. One of my cars, a 1974 VW (purchased new by me) has two speeds (slow and slower) with no variable speed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Turn the sensitivity down :) It should have a "+" to "-" for reaction.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Oh I have. They still sputter erratically.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where might this mystical button be located?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No such button on a mini

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about a large?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Little scroll wheel on the wiperstock

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No that changes the set speed, has no control over the rain sensor speed unfortunately

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weird, it does on my BMW. Must be different coding between the two.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Either that or they don't react until you can't see anything. Mine does both at a random.

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

Exactly! Very irritating.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same here. However, it feels like it learns how fast it should go after a while. Like "Oh, alright! Now I've got it!"

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Mercedes-Benz?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BMW.. But I Think most of them have this issue.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not Cadillacs. But that's because it never worked in the first place

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't they depend on speed?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe mine depends on both.. but sometimes the reaction times are very slow

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just micro-manage mine lol, it's a 1998 so fancy stuff like that is kind of limited :(

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine are speed and rain sensing. Depending on how hard it's raining they change speed

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Huh, I wonder how it works, IR sensing or some sort of conductive thing on the windsheild?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Usually its some kind of tension/conductive measuring at the top of your Windshield. The black field in the middle.
