This has become the trademark question that Cast Members throw around.
I've worn some HIDEOUS outfits at this job, yet there's always those few who are so upset they can't buy them.
This was during a parade audience control (PAC) shift at one of the Christmas parties. The duties of PAC are to keep walkways clear in case we have to have an alpha unit (medical personnel) come through. This particular guy was so angry because him and his big family kept trying to go in areas we had to keep clear. He finally decided to take it out on me. 10 minutes later EMTs were running through with a stretcher. We really do have rules for a reason.
Oh boy. All Cast Members want to run away from the matching t-shirts and selfie sticks and that little flag on a stick. We don't mind big groups, but these are usually younger teens, most of which are extremely rude. I've been pulled by my sleeve, had someone snap and clap their hands right in my face.
This actually happened. It was an older gentleman, by the way.
This is called "double dipping". Working at both places gives a lot of perks. Not a bad idea.
This actually upset me. I felt so degraded. The guy went on to say more rude things and his wife ended up apologizing to me for him.
Most people don't know Animal Kingdom exists. Highly underrated park.
It took me a while to come up with an appropriate response. It was her first time here with her grand kids and I honestly felt bad for her.
Apparently to a lot of people, Disney World is only Magic Kingdom.
Self explanatory.
We're more sick of Frozen than you are. Let it go.
First of all, no one can "be" a princess, because the princesses are themselves. When I tell them I'm working in a different role, they instantly become uninterested.
I LOVED working for Disney. And I plan on working there again in the future.
inmyiroc
Let it go. Let it gooooooooooooo
BeardedCoach92
Oh that frozen word play I see you OP well done

Lexiconicopia
How does someone even get a job there?
kazuza
As a brazilian, I'm really sorry.
MeowImAShark
As an American: Fuck you, Brazil.
TheDecentGatsby
One of my favorite coworkers was an international from Brazil. We know you're not all bad (:
TalkRlyehianToMe
Caught a post before it got to Front Page, woo.
montagg
Have you met Gender Confused Tyler? He's my friend. He works there. Give him a hug if you ever see him.
TheDecentGatsby
I have not.
DragonFromAFewDoorsOver
This one has trouble believing that Animal Kingdom is underrated, it's is an amazing, informative, and diverse.
Bluntforcetrauma
As a Brit who went to Florida once. It is the best memory I have. The whole place is so damn happy and polite.
actualedsheeran
Lol I thought my buddy was lying about Brazilians
RidiculousPanda
I hear so many ups & downs about Disney! Glad you loved it, my friend rage quitted after two internships there. Just not the job for her :)
Nilkimay
So what is the least busy time of the year?
TheDecentGatsby
September-November is pretty much dead. February and March is decent as well.
GodtheMagicalSkyDaddy
Late August is pretty great, I think! I always plan trips right then, even though it's hot, because most Florida kids are in school!
academicfabe
1) Is the Brazilian tour groups always going on or something? I have been there twice (1996 and 2013) and they were everywhere both times.
academicfabe
2) If so, it seems all of Brazil has been there more than most Americans.
TheDecentGatsby
Summer is a huge time for them. And then around December-March because that's their summer
pandasaurusrexx
Disney World is still one of my favorite places to go and I love Animal Kingdom.
pandasaurusrexx
And the "Bugs Life" show in the tree of life... if they still have that. That was a trip.
TheDecentGatsby
They still do! Never did it, I hear things touch you and that's a no from me xD
pandasaurusrexx
Haha "bugs" touch you. When I was a kid it wasn't my thing either and my dad told me it was just a 3D movie and I'm pretty sure he's never
pandasaurusrexx
Laughed so hard at my expense. Memories.
RickSanchezEarthDimensionC137
This is pretty much how the Brazilians act, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LZYBpN0VkVk
kazuza
This is amazing, this is exactly how we do it.
GrandTheftManual
I loved this!
TheDecentGatsby
And I love your username!
GrandTheftManual
Why thank you!
Lulabel73
How many days would you recommend for Disney world? Would 5 days cover it?
TheDecentGatsby
It really depends. Magic Kingdom could easily take 2+ days. 1 day usually covers the other three.
Lulabel73
Thanks!
ThisIsAnAlaia
What kind of an asshole goes to a theme park and insults the staff? I didn't even know it was possible to be in a bad mood at Disney World!
TheDecentGatsby
You'd be surprised :b
Acatno
God forbid it rains and everyone shoves inside to where it's hot and stuffy and their kids get grumpy and hungry and causing a ruckus. ugh
UncageTheSage
Can you share a little of what the hiring experience was like?
TheDecentGatsby
I worked there on an internship, so I can't speak for all jobs. But I started with an online application, was offered a questionnaire 1/?
TheDecentGatsby
online that's like a personality test. After I passed that I scheduled a phone interview and was hired a couple weeks later. But for 2/?
TheDecentGatsby
part-time and full-time jobs, I think you just go to their Casting building in Orlando and see what they have available.
SweetRage
Are the princesses not played by actresses?
TheDecentGatsby
No... There's only one of each princess???
SweetRage
They don't replace them every few years if they get older, or have another life dream to move on to? I've never been to Disney World
TheDecentGatsby
To preserve the magic, there's no actresses/actors. Cinderella is Cinderella, Ariel is Ariel, etc.
DoubleStuf
Ok but Cinderella isn't real, so who are the real world people that portray them, and what is their job turnover like?
AxeDoIt
My wife is "friends" with tinker bell at Disney world. And I can confirm all these things.
TheDecentGatsby
I've probably met your wife and wish I could be her.
AxeDoIt
Possibly. Her name is Adrienne. And we're actually gonna go home soon.
TheDecentGatsby
What's her Instagram??
TheDecentGatsby
If she's adrimermaid on IG, I've been following her for a while! Ahaha that's sounds creepy...
AxeDoIt
Ahaha! Yep, that's her alright! You've probably seem me in a couple pics also then! Lol
TheDecentGatsby
I know what you look like ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
IAmMistysTogepi
So can I buy your shirt?
TheDecentGatsby
No.
IAmMistysTogepi
But I'll give you my shirt and $200.
TheDecentGatsby
I'd be okay with just the $200
IAmMistysTogepi
Awesome!
