Yep, the US system has fixed terms so they have a order of succession if the President dies suddenly, first VP, then the Speaker of the house and so on. But if the VP has to resign it doesn't mean the Speaker automatically moves up. The president can choose a new VP, just as he would have chosen his running mate to be VP when he was campaigning. Ford was VP and President but was never elected to either.

The medical report never said anything about MRI, only advanced medical imaging. The report meanwhile the White House issued talks about perfusion of the abdominal organs, and condition of the arteries of the heart. That is not something that you see with MRIs. That is something that you see with contrast CT.

The seam of the pocket scraping the back of the hand is enough to cause a permanent mottled red/purple bruise.
