#10 perhaps she was just exploring the very real possibility that Rudy was just the topmost of a series of four three year olds standing on each other's shoulders. Or two three year olds and a five year old. Or one three year old and a seven year old. Or (and I have to admit that this one is somewhat less likely) one unusually tall three year old.

#32 damn I tore mine in half while skiing at 16 and it’s just gone now and sometimes my knee bends backwards and that feels awful.
MadamPuddifoot
#32 we DO need them, as evidenced by her insane crash that resulted in her broken leg. She had less control, which caused her to clip the gate.
LISTEN TO YOUR SPORTS MED TEAM, ATHLETES. WE KNOW WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT!

#48 Or 3. Use this AI brand! There were so many AI commercials during the Superbowl and it made me want to barf.

#50 I don't know about the two man luge, but that is definitely how Turkish Oil Wrestling started. It's a real "traditional sport." Look it up.

#3 my trick to remember that stuff is to throw it out of the room. Need another toothbrush? Throw it out the bathroom, when you leave the bathroom picking it up will remind you to put it on the list

#43 Washington DC redesigned their driver’s licenses and then had to have an emergency redesign after people kept getting into issues with cops outside the DMV because they thought the “District of Columbia” written on it meant their license was from Colombia, the South American country, and not valid to drive on US roads. Yes, really.

What is a chafing dish?
ifyoutakemeseriouslythatsonyou
#32 fun fact. The answer is yes and no. Depending on the damage and your fitness/ muscle mass sometimes the muscle alone can compensate for the the injury. Had a friend train for a marathon with a torn ACL (before surgery). Doctor said it was okay as long as she kept the brace on...

#2 I've had colleagues at the same, very small institute, sitting in adjacent buildings and publishing papers contradicting each other.
ZackWester
As long as the Nemisis is doing his/her work in honest this is a great honor. as it means someone have taken the time to read it, understand it, and decided to show up to challenge it
stronomer
Yeah, no, because few other people were actually interested in that stuff. Two people fighting it out in the void.
ZackWester
Diogenes that Greek philosopher guy that sleep in a Barrel becuase he was a well odd. But he would also show up to any scientific publication (or the equilient of the ancient era) and challenge it if he did not show up it meant that what you had was not even worth to be challenge because its was that bad..
Bombofclusterfucks
#17 can someone explain what this is and what it has to do with age?
VoidScreamer
It's like a school keepsake. At my high school, we used to do it because the yearbooks didn't come out till the next year (our HS yearbooks were hardcover and pretty pricey), so people wore cheap shirts and people signed them instead at the end of the year. The kids no longer do this sort of thing.

#1 - Dispatches From Elsewhere has the single best pilot of any TV show I've ever seen, which makes the fact that the rest of it is some of the most insipid drivel I've ever had the displeasure of watching so much worse.
ZackWester
I watched I think it was most of the first season.. got to the number machine in the bunker.. and then I jumped because nothing happen it was just 5 min show then a flashback then back to the show for 5 min and then ads and then a small repeat or something... Like nothing was going on for so many episode I just gave up.

#5 I bet everyone complaining about Bad Bunny has at one time or another tried to sing the songs "La Bamba," "Despacito," and/or "Feliz Navidad."
Mikeiller
"Louie Louie, Oh Baby! Now wegotta go, yay ya something something something incoherent mumbling"
theThousandHells
Or more likely "Who Put the Bomp" or "Papa Oom Mow Mow"
spacecowboyein
I would like Bad Bunny more if I had never heard Despacito. That song suuuuuucks.

#37 The human body is 60% water and 15% dense, mineral-rich bone. You can absolutely degrade your own WiFi signal.
ZackWester
yep and even better some WIFI antennas or just in general set up are so bad I seen a piece of paper block it (NO I mean I held up a A4 sheet of paper and saw the WIFI signal drop to zero from 2 bars)

#32 After watching her finals race, it turns out that yes, you do need an ACL
PizzaCraig
Her not bowing out was selfish.
TheMostKink
Against whom? Who would have taken her place if she had bowed out?
MadamPuddifoot
I promise you that her docs, athletic trainers, and coaches all told her not to. She had the knees of an 80-year fed BEFORE that crash. She's not gonna be mobile by the time she's 60.

Clawdbot is an autonomous AI agent (software) that uses LLMs. Firmware is a part of a machine's controlling logic (stored in persistent memory) and it talks to the hardware and software both. Moltbook is a site where software agents can talk to each other (yes, really)

100PercentOrganicCringe
The 'autonomous' part of 'autonomous AI agent' kind of heebies my jeebies, tbh

#1 a new lost meme is 2026 wow. Still my favorite show I watch it once a year.
HighSorcerer
Zootopia 2 has a reference to Babe in it. Babe was released in 1995. That movie is 31 years old. That reference was put into the movie only for the adults watching that movie.
SaltyInternetPirate
I watched it once. Never seen any rewatch value in it. The big reveal in the end that they were all dead the whole time and the island was something like purgatory wouldn't make it any better.
RatsLiveOnNoEvilStar
If that's your take away, then you weren't actually paying attention. The only pergatory/"dead the whole time" part was the flash sideways in the last season. Everything else was actually happening and they were alive.
They explicitly say in the last episode that the flash sideways was all the various people from the show waiting for everyone else to finish living their lives before they moved on. Hurley and Ben spent decades managing the island before they passed.
Hashbrown123
Lost and BSG were peak TV during that era.
RatsLiveOnNoEvilStar
They were when serial TV really got going. DS9 and Babylon 5 got the ball rolling, but even they couldn't rely on viewers actually being able to watch every episode to stay up.
Thanks to TiVo and early DVRs, TV was able to move from episodic to serial in a really transformative way.

So is #9 a millennial joke that I'm too Gen X to understand?
Roune
Idk. I’m technically a millennial and I don’t get it either. Maybe it’s a Gen Z thing?
VoidScreamer
The whole 'vibes' and 'it's giving X' thing are definitely Gen Z things.
MoonMoon89
Best guess is something like giving shacked vibes? Like "This job is making me feel to restricted, I quit." ?
justaguyinthebackrow
This is zoomer slang. You're doubly out of the loop.
Anfalicious
Millenials are the managers now my dude :P
MistahB
That's exactly what it is! It's never too late to catch up on modern slang and avoid the slow decline into boomer-status, friend.
0RocketCat0
Yes, it is. At around age 32. You gotta stop by 33. You gotta.
MistahB
I'm not saying you have to USE the slang, but keeping up with it is never a bad idea.
0RocketCat0
Nah. Let them have their little jargon. Language doesn't change enough that we can't understand each other when it matters, just when they don't want us to.

#3 I enjoy Dr. Squatch products but they sent me double my order to be nice, they don't understand, that's a years worth of soap/shampoo
jesuisgur
I've been in a weirder dimension with roommates where we'd always forget to take out the trash. So we'd pile up the bags against the door, which opened inward. Then we'd come back home and have to push the door in order to get in, with the pile collapsing through the corridor. There was no other egress. How the fuck did we get out in the first place ?!?
Snooj
You buy 6 months worth of soap/shampoo at a time?
azazyel
No, I'm dude and one bottle lasts me a long time, 2 big bottles and 6 bars of their thick soap will last a long time
ToenailClippingsJar
I have 16 bottles of soap here waiting to be used. What can I say, they were priced down.. Same with detergent, had 6 bottles there. Toilet paper? Might last me another couple of years.
I buy bulk when it’s priced down, eapecially those type items. Oh, deodorant I have 7 left. I think. No point in paying top euro for them.
Eldibs
This is a perfect demonstration of why it costs more to be poor. If you can afford to bulk buy products when they're on sale, you save a good chunk of change in the long run. Plus you save time, you don't have to keep going and restocking on those supplies.

Spinoff from The Boys, honestly think they only made it so they could get a bunch of less known actors that were ok with doing more sexual mutant stuff than what could be allowed in The Boys. And The Boys were already pretty crazy.
keyblader1985
Heroes had a damn good start. Didn't have a great end... either of them.
relsky
Man I was so excited about Heroes. "Save the cheerleader, save the world!" And then they just killed it. Total sabotage.
Firefly. Gane of Thrones. Walking Dead. Simpsons. Money grabs, mismanagement, and pure incompetence.
I hate hollywood media. Now I have a personal policy that I don't watch shows until they're finished. Same for books. And I generally only play indie games nowadays, too.
itsthevoiceman
Writer's strike fucked it up (well, the execs trucking things up for writers, making it where they needed to go on strike).
Deadflower394857
The first season wraps itself up well though
justaguyinthebackrow
I was disappointed by the season fnale. Felt kind of anticlimactic. Endings are tough to get right, though.
keyblader1985
I can kinda get that; I liked it though. It was really satisfying watching everyone come together to take down Sylar.
