I would bust ass to get that job and spend my first and only shift crashing into everything and everyone. There would be food on every surface and every customer.
I didn't know any locations still did that. They removed the skating carhops from their commercials in this area in the 90s, and the last one I saw in person was in '98 I think. She was very nervous, just slowly coasting to the cars instead of striding.
Just looked it up because of your comment, and saw that there were skating ads elsewhere in the 2010s and an annual Sonic skating carhop competition. Mind blown. The past persists!
I have a loose chip of bone floating around the point of my elbow because of a fall similar to the first wipeout in the video. I wasn’t on skates, I was just clumsy…
And how many of those carhops don't work enough hours to be on company insurance? Probably have to sign something saying you take responsibility for wearing roller skates.
I doubt they save much time like that, also there's people walking in their way, too, so everything about this idea is really inconvenient and asking for trouble.
Betterbecauseofthem
No, thank you
trinxter
Impressive.
baronvonbologna
I wonder what they pay for liability and workman’s comp insurance coverage
TheWeebleWobler
I'm the one at the beginning.
SternLecture

servingmytimeinusersub
Worst part is, this kind of looks like a cruise ship
VinnyVeritas
At first glance... "Why these waiters all have a "Kid" haircut ?
ChickenNuggetNumber05
i want to eat and pay for food and not for a show, if i want to see a show i go into the circus or theatre.
shawnemack
I love that the clip starts with the guy eating shit
Sheldonian
Yeah, that's pretty dumb. No protection and It's also potentially dangerous for the customers
sodomantis

Cool stuff but I am fine with the servers walking.
BarryTheCyborg
Unless my server is Bryan Cranston https://media1.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1eDM0bmI1YjVtaTFuOHB6NW50dGdzc3BpZTJhZzRicXhjdG10cnRyMCZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/Y3FPH9BKm6Ahy/200w.webp

Why are they all PeeWee Herman?!
WhatUpDog3000
Maybe move the kitchen closer to the dining room.
darkchiron
What a stupid idea.
Owl2017
We call it Sonic
IEatMyCum
This is really fucking stupid.
IWasACatAllAlong
Restaurants need to stop coming up with stupid gimmicks. All they need is good food, and to pay their workers a good fukken wage.
macrolet
What could possibly go wrong?
Snooj
The first couple seconds illustrates it.

Skater Waiter.

Imagine being really hungry, and see the waiter drop your food on the floor when failing one of those lil spins on his way to you
HelloThere1812
And then scooping it back onto the plate for you, hoping you didn't notice. You know someone has done it at some point at that place!
xj4low
Would not fly in the US. Too much liability with hot food served by people on wheels. Those don't look like non-slip soles.
REOJackwagon
They do that at Sonic

Gotta say it's amazing, but also really stupid.

AtmaDarkwolf
yea i mean i'm totally ok if the meal takes an extra 30seconds to reach me from the stoves, stop risking me wearing the meal lol.
MsQuin
I assume you're paying for the show not rhe speed
LuciusNeedful
I'm happy if others enjoys this gimmick, but I would be endlessly annoyed by servers zipping around as I tried to eat.
norcebyl
Didn't think about that. That would get old quick
