#6 Sadly it’s not convex. Maybe try using non-Euclidean geometry. That’s how you make triangles with all right angles.

"Organised Napoletano" sounds like a South Italian cryptid. I've never met one & I strongly doubt they exist.

#13 I'm old enough that I wait for the hot daughter to get out of the way so I can scope out her mom. 46-year-old JLoHew is way more interesting to me now at 55 than she ever was pre-kids.

#6 Forgot about the two parallel lines, fam.

Alternatively: “a plane figure with four equal straight sides and four right angles.”

Still a cute joke though.

#29 Look, the moment C4 stops solving the problem, we will start looking for other solutions, but it's very good at what it does.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm here to chew bubble gum and blow shit up, and I can use C4 for both so I don't run out.

#27 only if they have 1995 prices

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Is this some American Mobile Data thing I'm too European to understand?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Signs like this are usually in restaurants and bars. So I’m referring to the prices for the food/drinks.
I’ve been living in Europe for 37 years and so have no idea about the mobile phone coverage and prices in USA or Canada either. But when I do visit, I’m glad to have places with WiFi

#6 four straight sides of equal length and that shape has zero right angles.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It does have right angles though, as it has perpendicular edges, the intersections of which are right angles.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It does have right angles, they just look wonky because of the shape. But otherwise you're right, the sides have to be straight and of equal length and it also has to be a parallelogram with 4 right angles.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Curved lines don't count as right angle. At lest in Aus that's what's taught. It could be rounded to 90 but not a true 90.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rombus

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They absolutely do count. Maybe in lower levels of math it was taught in a simplified manner to make it easier to learn. But mathematically there's no such restriction.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#6 those are not right angles and there are not 4 equal sides... other than that... yeah, it meets all the criteria for a square.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

By the standard definitions, those are right angles (measured from the tangent), and the sides are also equal length (though they don't look like it), but that of course is not the definition of a square.

In geometry, a square is a regular quadrilateral. It has four straight sides of equal length and four equal angles. Squares are special cases of rectangles, which have four equal angles, and of rhombuses, which have four equal sides.

#1 I really miss 24 hr Walmart. You saw some real characters at 2 am on a Tuesday

5 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

As someone who's worked graveyard shift for the past 10 yrs...I miss being able to get groceries at a time that worked well for me and was also (mostly) quiet.

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

uhm, what was your job at night at a graveyard? listening for the tiny bells of people buried alive, playing poker with zombies...?

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

also, how sure are you that you arent dead and just haunted a walmart?

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can’t tell if serious

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

was serious tbh. never heard that expression before and was honestly thinking about a cemetery, not night shifts.
welp, ty for making me looking it up. ^^"

(would still prefer it to be graveyard night shifts tho....fun to imagine it.)

#1 Musk, Bezos, and co wanted more and for everyone else's lives to pay for it

5 months ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 2

No, it will trickle down. That can't be it. It's a mystery. Just because the top one percent have more than the bottom 60% (don't check that figure)

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

OK, it depends what we're talking about... OxFam says more than 95% of humanity which sounds legit. It is truly a sign of depravity and wickedness to have more money than a nation and to stand for suffering to exist in your own country that could be solved by not just pumping money into problems but you know, paying taxes. Instead we get AI and higher power bills with less clean water.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rich people decided they wanted it all and then made it all shit to try and squeeze as much money out as possible. Rich fucks ruin everything they touch.

Twenty years ago, i was standing in line to go into a 24hr sci-fi movie marathon. There was an old guy in line next to me who complained that tickets were $35. I pointed out that that was the door price and they were $30 if you bought them ahead of time. He said when he was a kid, you'd see the movie and get popcorn and a drink for a quarter. I said, but, wasn't that, like, a week's pay? And he says, no, well, not a whole week...

5 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'm surviving ok on part time work. My secret: i own my house. Shit feels so expensive now because most people have so much less left after paying to be housed.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No question on that. We toy with the idea of moving, but, we bought before the rates and prices went up. We couldn't even afford our own house if we were to buy it, today. Join the fight for more affordable housing in your area. One major roadblock is outdated local ordinances that only locals can change.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooh, which marathon? Is there another “It Came from the Drexel North” person here?

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When i went it was held at the arena grand, but, I'm afraid so.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The last one I attended was at the Gateway several years ago. I’d been going to them since late in middle school at the Drexel North, the few they did at the Rife Center, skipped the Drexel Main years, and then did Arena Grand and Gateway. I kinda wish it kept going, but I also know I’d be the guy snoring really fucking loud in his seat around 2am these days.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I went twice, both at the arena, and am proud to say i only fell asleep one of those times, during "the matrix". I definitely should've taken a pillow.

#13 she's so much hotter now, it's unreal

5 months ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 7

Wasn’t she in that NXIVM cult?

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I think you're thinking of Allison Mack. As far as I can tell, Jennifer Love Hewitt has never been involved in a cult. She has been vocal about her sexualization in Hollywood following I Know What You Did Last Summer.

I was trying to work out how "Fridge City" was a compliment because I couldn't fathom someone not thinking she was hot. What the heck.

5 months ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 3

It still might be. When I read it, my first thought was "FUCK YEAH"

But who knows?

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It would be amazing if this whole thing made "fridge city" jnto a compliment. It frankly sounds like one.

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I’m usually looking for my snacks in the fridge too so it makes sense..

#2 Isekai trucks are still superior to isekai trains. Trains are more efficient, but rush production and the output quality of the isekai’d soul suffers.

5 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Pfeh, back in my day we isekai'd through the coat closet.

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

#Isekai (Japanese: 異世界; transl. 'different world', 'another world', or 'other world') is a sub-genre of fiction. It includes novels, light novels, films, manga, webtoons, anime, and video games that revolve around a person or people who are transported to and have to survive in another world such as a fantasy world, game world, or parallel universe with or without the possibility of returning to their original world.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isekai

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

yeah, and unlike trains, truck-kun hasn't isekai'd a psychopathic atheist with a penchant for committing war crimes

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Which anime is that?

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

tanya the evil, iirc. psycho man gets isekai'd, becoming a tiny orphan girl in a wartorn something or other nation. there's some kind of magic nonsense turned into weapons and dude has to "pray" to the godthing that isekai'd him to get a huge boost of power. this goes poorly for everyone involved including the psychopath... mostly everyone else, but still.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Rightio, thanks. :)

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

uh, I tought you were talking about that one that was a huge hit in web/light novel form, then once it got in manga format the protagonist was identified as a big... lemme try again: he was identified as a FUCKING GIGANTINC WAR CRIMINAL OF EPICAL PROPORTION. And everyone and their mothers that were working on the anime (VA, animation studio, sound, every fucking one) pulled out and got in public advertising they were pulling out. Fuck, the manga was removed by the scanlators sites too XD
