I’m officially a dog owner. Meet Buoy.
Buoy is a cross between an English Labrador and an American Labrador. At 6-weeks old he weighed more than the average 8-week old Lab. He’s a laid-back little fella, and already knows “sit” at 9-weeks old. He’s a good boy.

So... A Canadian Labrador?

One would say he might be a good buoy.

Yeah Buoy!

Heckin' good buoy!

Awe. So cute. But can we start saying dog “parent” or “guardian” instead of “owner?” Owner implies property, sad way to think of a dog.

I see that you’re actually a dog, so you would know what’s best. I’m going with Pup Mother.

I hope you have a great life together

Knotty Buoy is my boat's name.

Very cool! Buoy comes from a line of nautical-themed names. Siblings include Bay, Navigator, and Finn.

Congrats! My best advise is to get a pet insurance policy while he is young and stick with it!
NoBeardTheIrate
Yes! Also save at least 2k just in case it turns out you need something major. Usually it covers most but you never know.
happethottie
That is currently in the works, but thank you for the advice! His health and happiness are the MOST important.

I would take the money you would pay in premiums and just put in a savings account

Me too.

Watch out and feed according to instructions so he won't grow too much/too fast. SO CUTE !
happethottie
He’s already great at not eating everything, he leaves food in his bowl and comes back throughout the day. We stick to serving sizes though!
AprilHamLincon
Feed (cubs) twice a day. Leave plate for 10 minutes and pick it up regardless of what he ate. He'll straighten quick and poop Regularly.

I have an American chocolate lab that weighed 21lbs at 8 weeks. He's 7 months old and over 85lbs now.
happethottie
His mom weighs 110 and Dad is 115 so we’re hoping for a big guy!
smally1986
Labs are renowned pigs so watch his food intake because they'll never at till they pass out.
essiecae
I used a tennis ball to control his eating and now he only eats when hungry
essiecae
Good luck! Mine doesn't realize how big he is and tramples me every day for when I get home!
happethottie
I can only imagine! We’re working hard to deter any jumping, we definitely don’t need a dog-induced concussion.
