Gotta fight back

Kids picking on other kids will always be a thing. We're officially turning boys into little girls in this country. Teach them to stand up for themselves not by telling but by throwing back. You hit someone that bullies you once, they leave you alone. There's a reason they only prey on weak people they don't like resistance so fight back.

Why not both? It's unlikely that we'll get rid of bullying anytime soon, so why not teach kids to defend themselves and others, and not bull

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I feel like this should be a puffin

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why am I not surprised a pothead has a shitty opinion? "Kush before people."

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

My bully used to pin me down and make me eat grass. Jokes on you sucka, I like grass.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I agree with the premise, but using "girl" to insult a boy is bullshit. Girls/women are just as tough as boys/men, often more so.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

"We're officially turning boys into little girls in this country"

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Fighting is, and should always be, the last option. There's a chance that it'll solve the problem for that moment, but not long term.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Being able to take a verbal punch is, in my opinion, just as important as being able to give a physical punch.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And as important as knowing when not to throw a punch

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"Officially turning boys into little girls" as though weaker kids didn't exist in the past and everyone defended themselves. Bullshit.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I was always punished for defending myself, bullies never got punished themselves

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Staff rely on the pecking order to keep the peace. That and they don't want the parents of the bullies to show up and fuck everything up.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I want my kids to have a strong sense of justice. Be kind but if someone needs defending then you step up and defend 'em.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Teaching a kid that fighting is the absolute last resort for good people is not the same as "raising a victim".

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My little girl is a black belt. What's wrong with being a little girl?

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Kids need to know that bullying is bad, that they should not do it nor let it happen. It's not only protecting yourself at school 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's also friends and the ones that are too weak to fight back. Don't be these fucks going away without doing anything to avoid risks

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know two kind of guys. Guys who are always getting into fights because they're "just sticking up for themselves" and guys who never (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 3

get into fights because they know that it's pointless and just leads to more fights (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

Thiiiiis, ffs. Any day a fight is avoided is a good day.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Cotton wool? That's not right. Cotton comes from a plant and wool from a sheep.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 3

Yeah we should be wrapping our kids with steel wool

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

But then bullies will just carry 9-volt batteries...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Like my father said never start a fight just finish them.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I know a few 'little girls' who would fuck your shit up. Don't use that as a measurement of weakness.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

I know some girls that could kick my ass as well. That doesn't change a damn thing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Yeah, the slogan for the women's camp at my gym is "fight like a girl."

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So rather than try to tackle bullying at the root, you'd prefer to fight the symptoms. No wonder bullying will always be a thing.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Cant you do both? Or would you rather your kid get his shit kicked in while you 'implore' parents to fix the next generation.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Both is the ideal situation, especially as not every kid will be in a position to fight back.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Agreed, and agreed. Less bullies, and more people on the sidelines who will stick up for/with friends is how to beat it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Teach them to bite the face off their bully

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I see what you did there.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got that reference

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Self defense is great for anyone; telling kids that bullying others isn't acceptable either. Don't teach your kids being a dick is okay.

9 years ago | Likes 127 Dislikes 7

No parent of a bully actually knows their kid is a bully until the school tells them about it. Nobody teaches their kid it's okay to bully.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 15

There are absolutely shithead parents that condone this stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Okay? And? There are exceptions to every rule. Doesn't change anything.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

Then don't say there is nobody that teaches their kids it's okay to bully.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Oh so you're caught up on technicalities and semantics. Gotcha.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

Fighting back made them leave you alone? You weren't bullied much at school were you OP? That made it so much worse. Every time without fail

9 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 8

I was bullied lots in school, usually verbal, which I ignored. Got physical two different times, I fought back hard, and they laid off.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was actually, I was held down and peed on once. It sucked. My dad put me in wrestling and I got strong and stopped taking their shit.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah. Seriously. I've managed to escalate the situation and give them impetus to really treat me like shit. Joy.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Ignoring them works best, or just walking away. Hell, fighting back was the cause of three out of four hospital visits.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sorry to hear that

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Or teach kids to understand others, bully may be suffering a bad life and can't deal. Breaking the cycle of violence seems a better choice.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

A simple act of understanding and kindness/violence could potentially effect a person's outlook and effect their treatment of others.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes. That is important too. But I think OP is talking about once your getting hit. Understanding isn't going to do shit.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I've been brutalized.I won't cause another person pain just because I've felt it or pass that cycle to my kids.Non-violence isn't weakness

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What if it's towards your kids? Would you still be non-violent?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't make a boy "a little girl" just because he doesn't want to fight someone. Not everyone manages conflict with violence.

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 6

Violence is the only language these little shits understand.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 15

Beat them bloody and they'll respect you.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

Sometimes you don't have a choice.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 29

Teach your kids being rude and violent is not okay! Also can we please not say men are turning to girls. That's derogatory on both counts.

9 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 11

Take it back to your fucking tumblr blog.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 23

I don't actually have a tumblr, and how dare I think it's a bad thing to insult both guys and girls respectively.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Don't be that guy. I was trying to make a point that most girls are more delicate then guys. It's OK that were not the same.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 63

He wouldn't have to be that guy, if you weren't that guy first. I thought you advocated for people sticking up for themselves?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Why not just use a different example...

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Here you are, the voice of reason, and no one is paying attention. Everyone looks at the polarized crazies. This is fantastic.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well, I'm not a guy, and I was actually considering it more from a guys perspective anyway. Like I said, Derogatory on both sides.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You sound like a sexually frustrated pussy.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For fucks sake, why do you get downvotes for this? Is it not ok we are not identical? So sick of this sjw wave

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 32

1) I downvoted it because telling boys that they have to be the strong and dominant ones, that they have to have manly interests or they are

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

2) pussys, that they can't be sensitive or emotional or weak or they are girls is so fucking harmful to them you can't even believe.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

I mean it's not against the law to be weak. Telling someone that being weak is ok is weird advice and crippling. What do I know, I'm sexist

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Emotions don't make you weak. By repressing them the way boys are taught to repress them you are crippling yourself.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Or you know...teach your kid not to be an asshole at school.

9 years ago | Likes 375 Dislikes 46

Or teach them not to give a fuck about other peoples opinions.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I really doubt it's that simple.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Not to be an asshole" is the right way to put it. Nobody thinks they're bullying. They're just being a dick to someone who "deserves" it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If only that worked. Unfortunately, there are too many parents that neglect this or even their children.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Did you even read the post?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The crooked nail always gets hammered down first

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good luck. We got assholes raising assholes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Very important too.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 11

Every person is a little bit of an asshole, some kids develop the "being an asshole" bit before they get to the rest of their personality

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

The issue is you can't teach everyone else's kids not to be assholes as well.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Need to teach them both. They need to be strong but fair. you don't want them to grow up to be shy pussies.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 5

You're making the same mistake as @OP in assuming that it's easy. Sometimes the kid that is told to stand up for themselves [1/2]

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ends up finding the line between retaliation and initiation becoming very blurred. They often become the bullies themselves. [2/2]

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's why it's strong and fair. You don't want to be that person that rolls over and accepts everything in life. It sucks, I'd know.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Can't just accept whatever BS a car dealership will give you. Be able to negotiate a deserved raise. Ect. There are people that will

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Wow way to spoil back to the future.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The thing is: fighting back doesn't work. Who TF told you if you fight back they'll stop? It doesn't work. If the bullying is verbal and 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You hit them, you get in trouble for initiating violence, and they'll just bring their mates next time. If you say something nasty back1.5/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It changes nothing, and it will just be perceived as a schoolyard spat. If the bullying is physical, and you fight back, again the 1.75/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Bully will just bring backup next time. My school years were just a constant atmosphere of threat. I was on edge for four years. I 1.875/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Was verbally and physically bullied by different people. I fought back in kind, and i sometimes escalated. It made no difference. I 1.975/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The bully at my school was just awful. Turns out his uncle was molesting him, unbeknownst to the parents. So it's not always their fault.

9 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 8

So I get molested AND bullied? Where was my respite? The kids that bullied me, bullied me because of my accent. Because I was different. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

My point being: on the other hand, some kids are just fuckers because they're allowed to be and are never told otherwise. Not all, though.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Wow. That is some bold headline.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No, different guy. I suspect it happens kind of often.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

What a shallow opinion. -1.

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 11

Uh oh did I hurt your feelings? I really hope so.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 29

Wow that sounds like exactly what a bully would say!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

The sad part is he's probably bullying his own kids for not sticking up for themselves.

The minute I started being accused of sexism, which is ridiculous, I got confused and then I realized oh I'm talking to feminist moron cunts

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

who are some of the most irrational miserable people on the planet who bully themselves. They constantly look for ways to snap @ people. So

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Once I realized I was having to argue with complete idiots who are always the victim then I stopped being nice. Feminism is a fucking joke

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Telling a boy to man up, to stop being a sissy, to stop being a girl is so fucking harmful to them. Stop being an asshole instead.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

Or, boys could stop being sissy little girls.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 23

1) Yeah, what does it matter if they are unhappy, can't properly express their emotions, can't really comfort their children or spouses or

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

2) even cry when their parents die. Just as long as they don't act like girls, right?

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yeah, pretty much hit the nail right on the head.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 18

I really hope you are a troll because otherwise I would have to feel sorry for you and that just doesn't sit right.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Yeah well, I wouldn't expect a woman/genderqueer/fluid/transdemi-tumblr-kin to understand. Emotions are for the weak.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 14

One of my main goals is to teach my kids to be kind to other kids. You don't have to be friends with everyone, but you will be kind.

9 years ago | Likes 384 Dislikes 10

I'm working on the now with my boys.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The new Cinderella movie, where her mom tells her to "have courage and be kind"... Now that's advice to last a lifetime.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And have a full magazine of roundhouse kicks cocked locked and ready rock at all times.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

one of my main goals is have no children

9 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

Then don't comment on a subject like this one cause no one cares about your opinion. You have to be in somebodies shoes to be able to comment

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RULE #1: Never underestimate your opponent. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED / Rule#2: Take it outside / Rule #3: Be nice

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are the bouncer, I am the cooler.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

excellent response to an aggravated post +1

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

That's how I was raised, still was picked on until I broke a guys nose

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's also important to teach kids not to be bystanders. Teach them to learn how to stand up for other people.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yes. My 10 year old, when he was about 7 - "If you don't need help; you help somebody else."

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That has zero to do with sticking up for your self.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 8

Meant it for them not to become bullies. They are also taught to defend themselves.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

There's been only two times in my life that i looked at someone dead in the eye and said "I. Don't. Like. You." otherwise im super friendly.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will teach my children never to start a fight...But they will sure as hell end it

9 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 2

They 'sure as hell' wouldn't end it against me. I would kick the shit out of your kids.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 11

Oh man, standing rule in my house you start a fight dad will finish it you lose a fight dad will teach you to fight better

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's exactly what my dad taught me. Always be polite, but if someone starts a fight you aim to finish it, fast and hard.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes... And always upvote Tom Hardy pix

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How original.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can teach them both lessons. They complement each other. Don't bully, be kind and never start the fight, but don't be afraid to hit back

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

They're definetly complementary, I hope you get more upvotes, people needs to understand this.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sound advice from multicolored shit

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I do what I can to make the world a brighter and more colorful place

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What's wrong with being a girl?

9 years ago | Likes 359 Dislikes 33

The only people who say this didn't grow up with sisters. Girls are secretly vicious as fuck. I know I was in a few fist fights growing up.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's not the point, and you know it isn't. Quit trying to make it about something it's not.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

I am from a year in the future and writing to thank you for writing this. Boys don't have to punch things to be boys.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Back then the men were men, the women were men, and the children were men!

9 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 2

Nothing. But if you're a man you should act like one.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

Absolutely nothing. But this is Imgur. Fuck it, this is society.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Don't say 'grow some balls', they're sensitive and soft, 'say grow a pussy, because they can take a pounding and keep on going'

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

A friend of mine put this as her yearbook quote, down vote if you want.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

because men are men and woman are woman, notice how no guys who grew up with a rugged childhood want to be little girls?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

if our society as it is, took place of the one that was in the WWII generation. We would have lost the war

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

My (then) 3rd grade daughter took out a 5th grade (boy) bully. Inside I was proud. On the outside I was proud. To hell with bullies

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Periods.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Their panties never cover or support my genitals. Why are they all so tiny? It is as though they weren't design to house a dick and balls.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 7

Genitalia don't determine gender, I know plenty of women w/dicks whose panties cover them. Try shopping OUTSIDE of the toddlers section.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 23

I really want you to be just trolling...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Why, because it would make you feel more comfortable in your bigotry?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Tumblr is leaking again

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or you're ignorant. I don't use Tumblr, I use my brain.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Yes it does. If you don't think so you're crazy as hell and probably miserable. End of story. You're to progressive for your own good.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm far from miserable, but thanks for your concern! Sorry you find progression in humanity so threatening to your personal ideology. ;(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I believe what I've believed my whole life. In the past 10 years things have changed and all sudden I'm suppose to go with it. Something is

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No it doesn't, gender identity is not how we look on the outside but who we feel we are on the inside. Don't conflate gender with sex.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh, girls are weak. REAL men fight back. If you're bullyed 1 against 10 and you don't fight back, you're obviously a pussy.

9 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 20

I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So do I. Last time a man tried to hit me, I was in the kitchen, like a woman should. I also had a pan in my hand. He had 5 stiches.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I once fought 7 guys cause 1 slapped my girl. They were the pussies that day.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Are you bragging you fought men for your girlfriend? Lol, you're pathetic.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So I should have let a group of men physically harm the girl I was with? What was the correct action?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Take on the biggest one. Throat punch or something. Kids get freaked out when the big guy goes down to the "weak" one. Personal experience.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 7

And how often /is/ it "10 against 1"? Usually it's the larger number of guys cheering it on, and one or two doing the actual bullying.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Defending bullying tactics? Being a bystander enables the bullying, firstly, and secondly, are you SURE you're Canadian?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Acting and enabling are different. I'm also not sure how you got "defending bullying tactics" from what I said.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, that is the way a survivalist goes about it. +1 to you.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yes when already outnumbered 10 to 1 attack the strongest foe first... I'm surprised you guys are still alive... -1 each

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Societal cues work. Take out the strongest one leading the charge and the others lose confidence.
