Would still go

I have been to the great Wall, the taj mahal and the beach in Rio. It was the expectation pictures for me. Depends on when you go

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Time to kill off a few billion

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is why I'm not a fan of visiting well-known locations. Give me similar locations that are lesser-known, please.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

In Spain we have a ton of those lesser-known places. http://elregajo.es/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/cerezos-en-el-valle-del-jerte-980x400.jpg

Nobody wants to believe me, I watch Survivor at home wit my bottled water while i GearVR & go Amazon shopping. No headaches. Now who's crazy

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Retoast so dry the blues brother wants it.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Not to me. I haven't seen the original toast

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Think 2015 was the first year since 1974 where no one reached the summit of Everest, would have been quiet then!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you're suggesting mass genocide to cut down on the number of asshole tourists, then I'm totally onboard.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You must be a blast at parties.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

The thing is - I am this person, too. So I speak from experience.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fucking tourists, ruining my tourism plans.

10 years ago | Likes 788 Dislikes 5

There's too many men, too many people blocking too many cameras

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damn Scots, they ruined Scotland!

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

YOU'VE JUST MADE AN ENEMY FOR LIFE

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Only I can do the fun things when I travel! When other people do it's just unacceptable!

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

That's why you do it on off-season, like any time but summer.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

turns out, theres a lot of people in the world

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Fuck.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pro-tip: take dozens of photos of monuments using a tripod. Special software can merge them and filter out all the tourists.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Pro-left-out-tip: Also learn how to use said special software.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I haven't used it myself, but it's pretty plug & play. You highlight all the photos (or their folder) and run median filter.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what happens when you go to touristy places during tourist season.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

live in tourist destination ,can confirm, if you go during peak, you will be miserable.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This makes me feel pretty ok about being in front of a computer right now.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Offseason is the best season.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the Stonehenge one isnt accurate at all. you can only get about 50 meters to it. that photo was probably taken at summer solstice

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Can confirm.. I traveled half way around the world to look at the 'henge through a fence.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i live fairly close to it and one day while camping a few of my friends and i decided to drunkenly go up to the henge and lick it... yea

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh no, what are all those damn tourists in those super touristic places?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is bullshit; I went to santorini last summer and it was nowhere this busy, one of the most spectacular places ever

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We need a new plague...

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We need a new plague

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

so what you are saying is reality sucks? okay now tell us something we don't know.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

I've been to a few of these places, and a bunch of other "famous" tourist sites. Don't let this jade you...it's not realistic

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I open mouth kissed a horse once...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At an average rate of 1 ejaculate per day starting at 16. A man would produce around 120 pounds of sperm in a lifetime.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Without mucus your stomach would digest itself

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

jesus christ, this makes me not want to go anywhere

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pro travel tip: Go somewhere where there's no brochure of it, then plan a fun day there. Most likely there are near to no tourist there. ;P

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyday there's music festivals in Rio?

10 years ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 1

can confirm..WC copacabana beach was crazy...ipanema beach much more subdued. http://imgur.com/NmEWWT5

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

World Cup Football events. Apparently.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yes every single day and night. Haven't you been?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rio was like that during the World Cup, that's it. I have never seen it like that at any other time.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most of these are more, time of day, time of year based. Stonehenge is only that busy at the equinoxes

10 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

You're not allowed up to Stonehenge anymore. It's like guarded off.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's true. I went to Venice in the winter where it wasn't too cold, and we had the entire river to ourselves.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same with Everest. Once you get further on the crowd dies down

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Not sure if you mean that literally.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm glad someone got that

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Tower of Pisa one is stupid. They aren't posing for your picture. There are other cameras.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

no shit, sherlock

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, but the point is that there are too many tourists.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hahahaha!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too much people? As a Swede, I can recommend the national park Sarek: http://www.martinkraemer.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/DSC_1697b.jpg

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

A friend of mine spent 2 weeks there. During those two weeks he met two other people besides the group he ventured into the park with...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That looks damn beautiful!! I spent a couple of days in Sweden last year but I couldn't go to the country side

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SHHHH

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks beautiful! Also named after Spock's father... so it must be a good spot!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maldives one is clearly a public beach. The private beaches at the hotels clean every cigarette butt and shell from the sand each morning...

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

No, It's the "back" side of the island where the waves hit and the trash is from the ocean. The other side is usually clean and beautiful.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The entire Indian Ocean is filled with garbage, doesn't surprise me...

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nobody's allowed that close to stone henge

10 years ago | Likes 166 Dislikes 6

When i visited some guy just walked through the middle of it with his groceries and got hauled off.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On the solstices you are

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Yes you are. I was there 6 months ago. There's one tourism agency that has an early morning sunrise trip that has direct access.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I'm like 95% sure we went through the same agency. Did you go to a really good breakfast place?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea Stonehenge only looks like that once a year on the solstice. To be honest it just as good looking at it from the A303 driving by.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've danced on top of one of them, for realises.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the picture's taken on the solstice where it's free and open to the public. so yeah that one is misleading bullshit.

that looks like its on a solstice, be it at a summer or winter solstice its that busy. All the weirdos come out for it

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yes everyone i used to hang with goes i dont kind its a weird place

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

kinda think *

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only during solstice i believe.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

On the solstice you can just waltz up and blaze with all the other wizards

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not since the Griswolds knocked it down.

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

Went in February and only three other people there but effen cold. Worth it. I want to be the only annoying tourist.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They are on summer solstice, but it's moderately quiet the west of the year. Used to live near it

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Dunno about stone henge but it is also forbidden to stand on the grass in Pisa yet no one is really looking or telling you to get off.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Stonehenge has people and wire fences stopping people from trespassing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

except it's not and you imagined that or made it up

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Go check for yourself.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I have, I've been. There were no signs. And I can find no mention of this rule on the internet.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I've been to over half of these places and had wonderful experiences. Nothing like those pictures. GO SEE THE WORLD PEOPLE!

10 years ago | Likes 459 Dislikes 17

You mean...go outside? Im not so sure about that. But thanks.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

And there is more to the world than "touristic" places!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ive only been to stonehenge out of these, and it was nothing like that

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im on a big world trip...just wrapped up sri lanka. its now my #1 reccomendation to anyone looking to get away

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hear hear, this is a gross exageration. I have been to 4 of those and they looked nothing like this.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah the Great Wall of China had like 3 people there when I went

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm heading to Spain this summer.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Based in your user name, I'm going to guess you have more practical resources than I. Do you sponsor travelers by funding their adventures?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nahh just a huge Macaulay Culkin fan.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ok

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

LOL, so you've been to 3?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Actually 6. LOL?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

These places are top destinations for a reason! They are allowed to get busy... Plan smart

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Exactly. Went to Stonehenge mid-week in the morning before the big tours got there and had it to myself.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't have the money...

10 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Sorry about that. Here take a free internet point

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Doing God's work

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's more doable than it seems. I make $15/hr and I've been to Canada twice, China and the Philippines. You can do it, and it's worth it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Agreed. It's not how much you make, it's how much you save.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I make $15 a day... :/

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was going to say, several these look like exaggerations, bad timing, bad location, or simply bad photos.

10 years ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 2

exactly. Pisa can get like that. And the Rio beach is only like that for Carnivale. But Stonehedge is never like that.

10 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Apparently stonehenge is like that if you want to get upclose...which is only during the solstice.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I'd thought they'd closed Stonehenge off entirely. Maybe this was a special tour of some kind?

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I think it's open during the solstice.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They open it for the solstices

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It is indeed open for the solstices. I was there two summers ago with 35,000 drunk people

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably just an old photo. They have closed it off so you can't actually touch it anymore.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Lot of smartphones in that photo, so can't be that old.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
