Seriously 30 no friends fat miserable anf broke living in my nans flat... how do i fix me?

I'm 48, no friends, wife died, I'm more miserable. Marry a friend, get a dog. Know happiness ends, but be better at it than I was.

I turn 30 this year too. Right there with you.

Start small. Cut out junk food, incr. fruits/water. Take Nan for a walk everyday. Go out with Nan to her friends coz older ppl are awesome.

2- Go volunteer for causes that are struggling, coz they'll welcome your help. That's how you'll make friends. & it won't cost anything

32....It some times gets better. Hang in there.

I think only professional psychological help will be effective.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I know how difficult this kind of situation can be and how pointless it is to ask advice from ignoramuses. So, go see your doctor.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No advice will help. Until you learn how to motivate yourself. Until then you will stay the same. Were all the same in that way really

Step 1: identify what you enjoy doing. Step 2: get off your ass and find a way to make money doing it. Step 3:let nothing stop you.

Lose the weight. I promise everything is connected. Life will get better but you have to change your behaviors. You only have one life. One.

Trade school? Full time job? Lyft or Uber? You DO have options, OP.

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 4

He didn't say no job, though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea, if you're in Australia, do security course. Will take a month to finish then you'll be paid 25/hr and you can work 12 works night shift

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I think you're underappreciating those two guys. If they hang out with such a loser they must be great dudes.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Never too late OP. I went back to school at 30, wrapped up law school, and found a decent job. Find what you like and DO it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am 40, it doesn't change. Just enjoy life.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Begin taking a night class.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Honestly, everyone really only needs 2-3 friends. Any more than that are just aquaintences. Now you just need to work on the money part.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Possibly therapy?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, I have two pieces of advice. Depending on your circumstances, 1, do the gym thing, serotonin is life, 2, do the bar thing, meet people

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

What if you don't drink?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then I'd go with the gym.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing changes until you spend more time away from the computer. That's my old man advice to everyone. If you already do that, then I dunno

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Start accomplishing small things. Set small goals and get em. Eventually you'll want more of that feeling. Gradually make bigger ones.

I met my fiancé at 35. We’re now engaged, halfway to our house deposit and happier than ever. Don’t give up hope, it’s never too late

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Drink.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

That whiskey is to good, he can’t afford it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're normal. Seems like after 30 friends are hard to make.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Very. And can be hard to keep. People move across country, they have kids, etc. I feel like I have to wait until my friends kids are teens

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Before I actually get to hang out with them again. Now I'm just helping them watch their kids, which I'm frankly not interested in.

Lemme know when you find out

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Get off your ass, get off your phone/computer and fix it. Clearly you recognize the problem. Do it.

8 years ago | Likes 268 Dislikes 33

I kinda made a good amount of money from being on my phone and computer lol. Its just being productive though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imgur is the new dumping ground for depression, think any of these people will get better if this is their main course of action..?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Lol. Advice with no actual advice in it.

I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy living or get busy dying. -Andy

I'd say that OP recognizes that there is a problem, not necessarily the root of the problem. Still, it's good to get busy with the world.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i mean, you'd definitely be looking back at now like "where did the good times go"... but i also feel like this isn't quite what they needed

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"It could be worse" is not really good advice for someone trying to improve themselves

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Neither is self wallowing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

What? Thats like my life motto. Is this why I sleep on a mattress on the floor in a room with a broken radiator?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was in the same boat last year. Then I lost a hundred pounds, and my attitude about life got better

8 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 3

I can't lose any weight so maybe I should gain 100 lbs.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He already said he was broke! He probably needs 100 pound more...

Sounds dumb, but when you wake up make your bed and clean your room. Then make a goal and do it. It saved my life

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 4

So damn true

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

MaKe it a habit to make your bed and clean your room every morning. It makes you more productive and motivated

I'm in this boat. Physically injured, not bad enough for disability, just enough to where a physical job is a poor idea.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Know how you feel. I am just damaged and wonky enough for the lasting pain. But functional enough to not get disability. Shut happens
