Yes and no. They can be trained to pee in a specific place. They do however lack sphincter control, so if they gotta go they will go where they stand. Diapers work!
Today's USA news, then later today my toddler almost getting hit by a car driving up on a curb (and then hurting myself chasing after the car! Woo woo), made this a welcome diversion.
Sadly they got away, have some store security footage of them getting away and me chasing, but so far only my memory of the license plate and such as video was blurry. Filed police report. My kid is okay, she was more scared that me and my wife started screaming at the car, and apparently people came up to my wife as I took off offering, uh, 'help' if I tracked the driver down. And once adrenaline wore off I discovered a bad groin and knee injury.
You did what I had to do and you took the correct steps to have something done about it. Now... go take care of yourself and hug your kid and your wife. Get better soon fren <3
