This boat is not sunken, this is clear evidence that the water levels are rising

Ooookay. Aren't these things s'pose t'be on TOP of the water?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see the sunken boat, but I haven't found the big ass yet

Here's a cool video of some divers at the wreck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti6cqfkyGaU&t=0s

Tobermory!

Please stop fat shaming sunken boats.

That's a funny name for a vote.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine having a cottage here and being like "im going to go for a swim...HELL NO"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the sweepstakes. In tobermory ontario. No bodies. It sunk while being stored there. It was full of coal and not much else.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been there, me and my family took a tour boat over top of it, very cool to look at

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably sunk intentionally to help create a reef.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is it illegal to dive?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

People get lost easily inside old wreaks, or stuck/caught on something, and run out of air.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

people get lost on ships when its on the surface and the lights are on

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not illegal to dive around, just can't go inside. Exhalation bubbles may cause further damage to a fairly intact wreck

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

God damn bubbles

"There was this one traveling salesman." Walter (secondhand loins)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Secondhand Loins must be the porno version

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

"Secondhand Lion", excellent movie. A little Calvin and Hobbes vibe.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I loved it! The vibe is what sold me on it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ummm.. yea... No!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Another imgur post that tells me about a "big ass" but then shows only the front. What an AFT idea. Ok, I'm going to BOW out now.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is at Tobermory in Ontario, the boat was decommissioned and sunk on purpose, now it's just a tourist attraction. No exciting backstory.

8 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

I'm not calling ON boring but... nah it's still pretty sweet even without a cool story.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought there were multiple sunken boats there?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are 2, if you take the boat cruise to Flowerpot island they take you overtop of both boats.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Take the glass bottom boat if you can, its at the Tobermory Harbour. Flowpot Island is good too!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice. Will do. :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are a lot of sunken boats. Tobermory has a marine park. I've personally dove on about 6 wrecks there. It's awesome bang for your buck.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Excellent. I want to go camping there this summer. I would have been sad to learn there was just the one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? I don't understand why they'd not just scrap it

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There are dozens of wrecks in Tober, most legitimately sunk during storms. Tobermory features a massive limestone reef formed by (1/?)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

migrating glaciers. So there's huge ruts of stone outcropping. During storms ships could be tossed unto the reefs, and thus sunk. (2/?)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It makes Tober super fun to dive! But a lot of these legit crashes sit very deep in the water (the crew tried to steer off the reef (3/?)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

before sinking). So over time some "shallow" wrecks have been sunk on purpose. Partly to make structure for marine life, mostly for (4/?)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Damn, man. I have no idea what happened to me, but I used to love looking at shipwreck imagery as a youngin'. Now I get so uncomfortable...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice diving site

Not illegal. I was on the deck of that ship last summer. The have gates up to keep you from going under the deck

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Barred divers to prevent damage to the deteriorating wreck.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man.. all the interesting shit is illegal or against the rules.. can't have any fun anymore..

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't dead dive inside

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It's only illegal if you get caught

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

now I want to see the remains... bastard

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But if you can't go inside where the dead bodies are, then the remains aren't to be seen.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I too am interested

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

punny, very punny... "remains to be seen"

8 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

This makes me just uncomfortable AF.

8 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 3

Yeah I'd be afraid of creatures in there.

Thank you. My personal horror being falling overboard at the Universal Studios Jaws ride. Nooooope.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wouldnt say I have a fear of it (usually find it cool) this picture though just has me more anxious than a chicken in an alligator factory
