He can't. He's harmless. I used to play with Southern ones when I was a kid and I got gripped on the finger once. They've got a strong jaw but no teeth.

They don't really kill you. If you are bitten you'll just get a sort of leprosy where bits of you will fall off, every once in a while.
Also if you eat one you will turn inside out really slowly.
