as a Kraut: this is the most German thing I've ever seen - and I was right, found it on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbhdkK4ESyw

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but I'd have to clean the gutters first.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Conveniently cuts when he goes to jimmy it over to the next lane, because it's a fucking pain in the ass I bet. (Still a cool product)

The other one is also sourced, and higher resolution.

Saw this yesterday on the front page.

Wouldn't that cause water to go up under the shingles when pulling it back up? Like with siding you clean top to bottom.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think both way it would get water under.. thats a fair amount of pressure

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Better not have too many cracked tiles

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have concerns about using the hose to lower and pull it.

Sold!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is one dirty roof...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

putting to much strain on the connector, attach a rope an use that

Looked like a roof roomba

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh yes!!! Give me more!!!!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This should have its own category in Pornhub

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i never knew people washed their roof tiles. over here we'd just replace them if they were damaged and leave it at that.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Careful! This can move the tiles around and actually make your roof less waterproof.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why do they bother to clean the roof - aesthetics or is there a structural reason?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you don't clean it, moss roots attack tiles and make them fragile and porous. It's better not to use high pressure cleaning however.

My god this is good to watch

Yeah I dont know how it's getting so many upvotes either....

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I appreciated it man, sauce is sauce. Op didn’t deliver I’m all for it. Plus I like this show

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, we have a connoisseur of ”how they do it” in our midst. Not surprising, really.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, they show you step by step, how they do it. That's why I like it. Step. By. Step.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This screams for a song reference, but I’m not gonna do it now.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great way to clean the roof and uncover any leaks. That said, if it starts raining at 300 psi, I think we have bigger problems!

7 years ago | Likes 333 Dislikes 3

I laughed at the crack about 300psi rain. Then I wondered about real rain. Quick google: 0.011psi, quick math: 0.87psi. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ballpark!

7 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 1

1 atm is about 14.7 psi so I’m assuming that’s how much extra pressure the rain introduces? not much so I wonder if that’d dmg roof

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I power washed my garage roof before I painted it, it leaked like a sieve. My partner keeps her artwork in the garage. It didn't end well.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"Some people really like water colors" - probably not something you should say within striking distance.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Probably closer to 3000 psi tbh

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Well, if the tube section is 0.5in^2 that you'd equal 1500 pounds of thrust powering this (now) rocket into the sky.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

o_O that would cause some VERY extreme damage on that mans hands when (not if) the hose breaks... Not to mention extremely doubtful.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Those hoses hold 3000psi, they are braided steel. I think they can handle the 10 - 15 pounds of that head.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I work with hoses that can stand up to 4500 psi daily. I promise you they will break.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Industrial pressure washers don't fuck around. Even the cheap electric home use models can push up to 2500

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No safety harness?

7 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 13

Exactly, if the hose pops, physics takes over.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Probably surrounding scaffolding

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Probably not, never seen a roofer with more than a ladder and his boots

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OSHA approved

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

His balls keep him nice and balanced

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What are you casual?

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

If my memory of basic physics served me correctly, the ground should break his fall.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck a safety harness

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

"Fuck a safety harness" says last person who needed a safety harness

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most of my falling of roof experiences happened from the safety harness getting tangled. I prefer not wearing them

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What would he attach it to?

7 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

The ladder.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Sky hooks

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

His body.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

The chimney...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

One end goes usually to a person and the other to the chimney.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Fuck I'm a roofer and it took me all day to wash with a normal petrol washer, this looks great

7 years ago | Likes 510 Dislikes 3

This thing doesn't look like it's all that fast. It's likely to take you all day, too.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Looks a lot more convenient than climbing all over the roof by yourself, at least for the steep ones.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Next time use a bigger diesel washer

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You could use this every shingle day.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what happens when you use gas to clean. Try water next time. It's not flammable which is a bonus.

7 years ago | Likes 147 Dislikes 3

Hahaha good one mate

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope you know I meant a petrol engine water pressure haha

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder which one would actually be better in terms of cleaning power.

7 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Well, gasoline is a pretty potent solvent. Not sure how the different density and how it wets surfaces would affect the cleaning power

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The gas would do really good if you're smoking a cig while you clean. Nothing left behind

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tbh I was talking about a petrol motor water pressure washer 4500 psi. Get its off like nothing just a small surface area so takes a while

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on what you are cleaning. If water is bad at cleaning something, gasoline tends to do pretty well and vice versa

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

When cleaning the roof like in OP.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well considering that rain doesn't wash it away, I'd say water wouldn't work well.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I always used gas to clean the dirt & sticky filter oil out of air filters on my dirtbike. Works great other than being covered in gas.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For air filters petrol is probably the best because of no need to buy anything fancy and it gets the job done

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I understand that it may be designed for it, but I feel uneasy about them using the hose as a guiding rope.

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

2 words: German Engineering

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm pretty sure its NOT designed for that. Ive seen similar couplings on air hoses and you definitely wouldn't want to put a load on them

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

atleast use a piece of string attached to a handle and rope to relieve the stress...tons of "cool" job gifs on imgur are gonna lead to

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

people hurting themselfs :(

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

air hose vs pressure washer.... do you think they are using the same parts?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think they are using the same type of locking mechanism on the hose (pull back to unlock a ball bearing) which is not for holding weight

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

even if it is the same *type* of mechanism, i think the Germans who designed this might have taken that into consideration

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

What is it with you and Germans?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You CAN tow a car by running straps through your windows, but you probably ought to use the trailer hitch, ya know?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbhdkK4ESyw at 2:25 you get a good view of the clip. doesnt look the same as an air hose.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and since its not an air application, it would make total sense that it not be air parts being used.
