Here he is 7 years ago today. At this point, he was a staff sergeant.

He's now retired due to medical issues, but he served for ten years and I appreciate his service. Everyone have a safe Veteran's Day.

Thank you for your service, sir.

Those are E-5, Buck Sargeant, stripes. Easy and common mistake to make though.

There's an app for that... it is called Facebook

Oh, for sharing photos? I think image hosting sites work fine for it, but thanks!

No rocker and the FRG is wives that believe they have the same rank as their husband so everyone has to treat them accordingly

Sham harder shamurai.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's sort of funny how dorky you look standing at attention by yourself. Like if you put 40 people around you, you don't really notice.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Coming from a man: If you want to show him he's appreciated, tell him he's beautiful and you ~want~ him. Not need. Want.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And if he asks why you want him, give emotional reasons. Don't basically say he's useful by outlining things he does.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Lol this made me think of Bill Murray in Ghostbusters when he tells Dana... "I'm a man, I need to feel loved, I need to be desired!"

Three chevrons and no rocker mean SGT. If he didn't adjust his dress greens accordingly that's a NCO no no mam.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

That's a really nice sentiment! Guys need appreciation in general too. It's good to feel wanted!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Well you two look like a wonderful couple.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who is going through and downvoting all the comments saying "thanks for your service"?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

People who think It's a just job like anyone else and that fighting in unprovoked wars overseas doesn't need thank.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's perfectly fine if you feel that way, but to go down vote people who feel otherwise? Whyyyyyy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Asking the real questions.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I personally do not like how we as a country use war... however I know people like this man do it for the better half of life (1/2)...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

And while I know at this time war is inevitable with humans as they are and I don't like it I want you to know I still appriciate this man.

One vet to another. It matters not about the number. We did not sign it to be popular. We swore the oath because it is what we believe in.

9 years ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 17

Thanks for your service as well!

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 7

If there was one thing I learned in the Marines, it's that there are plenty who didn't sign up with that kind of mentality.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

We enlist for different reasons. We re-enlist b/c we're family. Broke-ass, taken advantage of family, but we family

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just checked my bags from the move and its not in there

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you either don't know ranks, or are looking for points on veterans day. That my dear, is a sergeant. No rocker.

9 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 23

When you are promoted in the Army, it's on you to get your ASU's updated. Maybe this guy never got the new patch for his ASUs.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I don't know ranks, but he was a staff sergeant when he retired.. May not have been in the photo. My bad!

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 10

That's what it says..

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 14

No, it says he was a Staff Sergeant. Two different pay grades.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

TIL

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

If I can find it, I'll post a photo of his pin with the rocker.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 7

You don't need to validate anything for some Internet nerf herder

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No big deal, it's not hard to believe an E5 made E6 in 10 years :)

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Holy shit, she got it wrong by one grade. Burn her at the cross. She didn't serve, why accuse her of point whoring? I highly doubt >>

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 11

She'd know his grade since she'd try to assert her husband's rank for stuff at the PX.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

most Imgurians are going to flip their shit she made a slight mistake.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 6

Imgurians really won't, or shouldn't, but it's a big deal in the military if you get someone's rank wrong.

to accuse a military spouse of point-whoring. My mother never knew what rank my father was until he got her a chart with pictures.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I don't get it. Why should we appreciate him? Is he a famous philanthropist or something?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 10

For bringing war to other countries on command of rich and powerful others.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah just took a knife to the head, shrapnel to his back, and ended up permanently sick af after exposure to chemicals to keep us safe.

No way

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh, its from Idiocracy. Gotta rewatch that.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Lol. It's the name of the monster truck that's too big to fit in the stadium.
